Better get to planning something special

 

Since we're in a pandemic, you could run out and grab a movie, a couple candles, a bottle of wine, some take out food, and a cake. Then tell her a couple thousand times how lucky you are.

Edit - Congratulations on 40 years! That's a major milestone for sure!!!

 

Better yet, get it all delivered and you don’t even gotta leave the house!

 

Nah, she good with it. We don't do much special anymore, we're old. And I'm good with it too.

 

Maybe just take a walk then and hold hands the entire time. It's amazing how little things like this mean to them, at any age.

 

LoL We live out in the sticks. No place handy to run out to. We have Netflix and I don't want to know how many DVDs. She has more candles already than is allowed by law. She has wine and.... a bottle of Patron I got her last year for her birthday. Ima gonna drink the dang thing!
No take out near, but pulled pork tacos tonite. She loved that "pork steak" I made Sat. She's too fat for cake. uhoh!
I do tell her lucky I am and she tells me how lucky I am.
40 years goes by fast folks!

All that good advice and you go and poo poo all over it.

Well then, only thing left is for you two to get all nekid, turn the lights off (order is important here, don't want to break a hip yet) and reenact all those nasty things y'awl used to do 40 years ago, give or take a week.

Then, when the paramedics find you in the morning in that position, unable to move,,, you at least have a good story to tell.

 

I will suggest that, got any idea how she will react? I do.

 

Probably the same as mine would. But after 40 years, she's way too invested to kick you out, for too long anyway.

 

Then it would take 3 or 4 hours to clean up the house after that
