Yeah, it's probably not true but less complicated maybe, I thought it might be good to look into upgrading with all that's going on but I'm gonna miss out on the Toyota sale anyway...my home refinance is taking forever to finalize and the sale ends the 30th so I'll just have to wait or keep mine and hope for the best...

Something to think about.

You should have the right to see the specialist you want to see; if your insurance requires a referral, do the legwork yourself. Do research on specialists based upon the criteria that is important to you. Are they local, highly regarded, in network, cheap, etc. So once you find Dr. X who specializes in orthopedic medicine, because they are very good, have an immediate availability, whatever, contact your PCP and have them submit a referral to that orthopedic doctor. Don't wait for your doctor's office to send a referral to someone they have a relationship with because it's convenient.

Also, ask about the cash price of services rendered. Cash tends to be a hell of a lot cheaper, and some will work with you on a payment plan. Insurance through my prior employer was low premium high deductible, so I paid out the ass for anything until the deductible was met. I always asked for cash price and paid significantly less for medical services.

And at the end of the day, if your current doctor is not providing the services you can afford, go see another doctor, explain your situation, and see if they'll work with you. That may mean still seeing a specialist, but they'll provide a short term prescription for medication to tie you over until then. You'll just have to reach out.

Thanks for the advise...I don't even know where to start but it may be time to try to find a new dr but I may wait and see who they refer and do research on them. I think I have a $75 co pay for a specialist but I'll have to verify. Im just not liking forward to this but I'll try to stay positive and research as mutch as I can as well... thanks again!
