Well... I may be having to get a portable AC for the office. I hate how 99% of Window unit ACs are designed for windows that slide up and down. I don’t know the last time I even saw a window that slides up and down lol. I really don’t want to have to get a piece of plywood or plexiglass fit to the giant window gap I’ll have if using a window unit.

The portables work very well, but they take up floor space and are kinda pricey.

I have a portable in my bedroom. I almost just want to get another exhaust vent for the window in my office and just wheel it back and forth. I found 1 single portable unit in stock nearby and it's the same price as the ultra quiet window unit I was going to get. But the issue like you said is floor space of which I have very little of in my small ass house

Maybe. Every house I've lived in in California and Hawaii had either left/right sliding windows or louvers style (mostly in hawaii, fuck those).

This house is too old. No central AC. I'm not living here forever so not gonna invest thousands into getting AC for the office either lol.
