Your argument was that the creature in the video can't be real because according to science large primates don't have hair on their chests. So, then, a) science is wrong, b) I'm not a primate or c) I'm a new previously unknown species of primate with chest hair.

Science has not undeniably proven or disproven the legitimacy of that video or the existence of a large hairy ape. Hell, until last year science didn't officially recognize the existence of a monkey with human-like facial features and blue testicles even though people in the Congo had long known, hunted and fed on the monkey. IT HAD FREAKIN BLUE BALLS!!! It took since they started officially studying it 2007 to prove/acknowledge it existed!?
    http://news.discovery.com/animals/top-10-newly-recorded-species-130523.htm

Science is slow. Science is only as objective as those interpreting it. Science CANNOT definitively rule out the existence of sasquatch or some sort of large animal/ape not currently known. Using science, people can make somewhat educated guesses. But the science community has to be open to exploring the possibility a creature exists. Our society has become very close-minded to the unknown- especially in our own familiar surroundings. People have seen/encountered sasquatch, yeti, whatever for hundreds... thousands of years but we cant handle the possibility of the unknown in our own backyard. Stories of a blue balled monkey in Africa and they go seek it out.

As for testimony from people claiming to be in on it, meh. I could claim I know the guy that rented Patterson the Kodak camera. I could claim to know he purchased the optional lenses with various focal lengths. I could claim a lot of things. Could I claim to have indisputable proof that bigfoot exists? yes. Could I claim to have indisputable proof that it doesn't? sure. Can I back up either claim with hard evidence? no.

Evidence is necessary to prove its existence, so we keep looking. However lack of evidence does not prove it doesnt exist.

The hair on your chest, is not the same type of fur on orangutans or gibbons, the only other relatives who have furry chests. The guy in the video has a furry chest. So, that is either the largest orangutan/gibbon ever filmed in Northern California, or its a dude in a suit. The fossil record(science) says no orangutans/gibbons are native to Northern California. If you read what I have written, i'm saying the thing in the video is not a bigfoot. I'm not saying there are no bigfoots in NORCAL.

BTW, did you put your headrests back on your truck?

I'm going to try to jump back in here with head on right because I haven't told this shit to many people , even those close to me, much less to a whole forum of people that with the exception of a few, I only know thru here (i.e: you guys) & most likely will never meet.. So it is what it is I reckon...

I'll try to explain it so it makes some kind of sense, & know this, regardless of what any of you think about me personally, I've been labeled an asshole, a loudmouth old bastard ,etc: you know the usual stuff , but I've never been labeled a liar, so that said ....

To address your comment OH I know, I did give back/put back as many items as i could gather , problem is its not all of them pretty sure

You cannot fathom how I felt when I learned of my mistake, how would anyone of you feel if you saw some dumbass diggfing, disturbing, destroying your moms final resting place ?? Fucking pure, unrelenting rage I'll bet , I'd kill the fuck, except the "fuck *is me

to this day , there is not 1 shaman that will talk with me about events after but I'm getting ahead of myself here

So you're saying bigfoot is a known species. An oranguatan or Gibbon. I'm asking for your evidence. You're suggesting it couldn't be an unknown/unidentified species? Or are you saying you dont believe there are undiscovered species out there? Seems pretty ignorant.

As for the headrests in my truck, they've never been removed. Further evidence of your ignorance.

Jesus, you cant be this dumb.

    1. I did not say bigfoot is a known species.
    2. Orangutans and gibbons are the only known species with fur on their chests. Gigantopithicus is the other, but it's extinct, and also native to borneo/sumatra.
    3. I'm not saying there is an undiscovered species out there. You jumped to that conclusion by answering your own question.
    4. I am only saying the guy in the video is probably not a bigfoot because of what we know about primates.

i obviously confused you with some other guy who started the no headrest thread.

I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it. There are always going to be those skeptics out there who somehow always have an explanation for everything... If you don't want to publicly out the story for all of the SD crew to read(hence the reason why I didn't want to post about this in our little e-hangout ) you can always send a PM. This stuff just interests me so much. How about those stories about the cults or ghostly figures out in alpine/pine valley or some shit? I vaguely remember you telling a story of you coming across some weird shit like that out there. Local stories are always the most interesting.

Well , I finally hit pay dirt & started digging up actual bones, keep in mind here that up to this point I had no idea I was fucking up by collecting the broken matates, so hadn't even occured to me that it was wrong, it was a closed day at Lake Sutherland, I knew the dam keeper really well & he fished too except this day he didn't go with me he had to go downtown for city business or some shit, my GF was with me & she too occasioally scoured the shoreline with me but she kept her collections down to"pretty rocks" as she called them..

We were on the northern shore across from dock in the santa ysabel arm of lake, it was around 10:00 am really pleasant tuesday IIRC, I was exploring /digging around an unusual rock formation , like little half caves that went back just 2ft or so & about 3-4ft high & I was finding all the goodies, full bird points made in both quartz white/clear & beautiful black obsidian, 1/4-1/3 size oijas (water vessels) painted pottery just amazing work, found a mono (grinding stone) shaped like squared oval, flawless,

next of course was the half matate, so i dug a little more underneath with my hands found it it too was flawless but kinda stuck in the dirt, so dug a little more with mu hands , shove them underneath lifted & it came up but this time it came up with bone wrapped in hemp around it..

    gotta stop a sec

1/2. you implied three possibilities- orangutan, gibbon, or guy in suit. ruling out possibility that its an undiscovered species based on assumptions of type/arrangement of hair.

    3. I suggested perhaps it could be an unknown species which you seemingly cant accept.

    4. to limit studies to what we already know is silly. you cant force a subject to fit parameters known to science. Science must adapt and expand to accept new discoveries. but to elaborate might be viewed as an attack on the forbidden R-word.

this is a waste of time. I'm just looking to read other's experiences here. but if someone starts citing unscientific assumptions, guesses and heresay as definitive evidence, I'm going to question it. whatever. I give up.

I was kinda wondering that after I posted.

Maybe you shouldn't be posting something that is so important to you on the 'net. sounds like this may be something for your minister, priest or theropist.

I won't mind if you decide to keep it to yourself.

Fella, im just waiting to hear the rest of Doug's story. Since i'm waiting let me say i am just citing what I remember from my anthropology and paleoanthropology courses and what we currently know about hominidae. Nothing unscientific. You are wasting your time, because you misunderstood what I've written. I believe, you see my opinion as an attack on what happened to you when you went camping. It' not.

OK, I'll play - just a real short and detail-lacking story:

My 2 buddies and I were driving down the road one day and, out of nowhere, I see a flying object, that I can't even find words to describe, go from, what was my perspective, one corner of the windshield to the other, via maneuvers I also can't really describe - and gone

... ... we all went silent for, what seemed like, several minutes
Finally, one of my friends said "... ... ...did you guys just see that?"
After he said that, none of us being afraid that we may have just experienced some momentary insanity, that we weren't willing to reveal, couldn't shut up about it the whole rest of the night

It's probably only come up once or twice since then
I won't speak for myself; but, I have high regards for the sanity and intelligence of my two friends; I'm not going to make a claim at what I think it was...
But, I will tell you what it freaking wasn't: not a meteor, not a light phenomenom, and not anything that a human being was navigating
