lots of tire talk but not much talk of recalibrating the speedo....

Im going from factory 265/70 to 255/285....I'm pretty sure i'll need my speedo recalibrated...

is this something I can do or is it electronic or do I need to buy any parts? better off letting a shop do it? can a toyota dealership do it?

your better off knowing that your speedo is off.

it's not that big of a difference, really, and the tire calculator in on this site will tell you how off your speedo is a certain speeds which will give you a general estimate as to your actual speed.

It will probably read closer to accurate with a slight bump in tire size. Factory speedometer reads about 3 - 5 mph faster than you are actually going. Bumping up in size will make your speedometer read more accurate, but throw the odometer off slightly.

On my '14 the spedo is dead on. On my old '03 it was 3-4 mph faster (it read ~73 when I was going 70)
