Yes. I’m running these now. Or if you want a little skinner get the 255/85-16

The 255 being narrower actually have more force per inch and can actually give more traction.

It has absolutely nothing to do with lift height and everything to do with tire width. In fact the negative offset wheels are what cause more issues as they push the tires wider making it easier to contact the cab mount.

OP, be careful who's advice you buy because there are a lot of sellers and a lot of bad product. If you drive street and do absolutely no suspension flex then you can probably get away with some heat molding and driving in a straight line. If you intend to do some work with it and put it through it's paces you will need the right backspace, offset, trimming, and CMC.

You'll see rubbing on wheel turn at suspension flex predominately on the CMC and some fender areasif you choose a 285 tire

Toyo Open Country MT 255/85/16 is the tallest you can get on there, they measure in at 33.5 tall by 10.1 wide. I have had these on a 2dr Jeep and loved them, wish i had them on my Tacoma now. An important thing to keep in mind is that not all tires of the same size are actually the same size, there will be variance and maybe some will fit and maybe some will need some work to make fit and not rub off road.

There is quite a few of us that run the 285 on stock pros with 0 rub. Now I’ll admit I’m not flexing my truck all the way but I do off-road during hunting season on doe pretty rough trails and I don’t rub with 285s. I would have went with 255s if they actually made a decent tire in that size. That’s the only reason for the 285s

285’s will start to affect speedometer readings and possibly some off the line torque is affected. Something else to consider.

Actually the "quite a few of you" are a very very small minority and if you gave me your truck for 2 minutes I could have it rubbing in no time.

And the Pro are different then the OR. The pro offset allows them to not rub.

Geez you are thick, you honestly think that everyone that runs 285s is using stock wheels, Pro or otherwise?

You think it's a good idea to give a new person advice based on your exceptional subjective experience instead of offering advice based on the majority

So when/if he has issues based on your advice where will you be when he comes back saying they rub and asking how to fix it.

I've installed many 285's and I've never seen any set not rub. Especially on reverse turn.

Similar to 305's on tundras. People lie.

Wow there killa. Don’t get your Panties in a wad cause you bought an OR and can only run 255. With the pros on stock wheels you can run 285s without rub. That’s a fact. I have that truck with that size and do not rub. Not sure what more to tell yah

This summer bring that bad boy up and run the Morrison Jeep trail with us. Maybe after that and I don’t rub you’ll admit I’m right

Correction yes you can. Heating and reshaping your fender liner doesn’t count as an “issue” in my book.
