    about to install a lift

(blistein 5100 ome 888, dakar aal ecgs bushing headstrongoffroad #1 combo)

not sure about increasing my tire size yet but right now i am running 265/75/16.

checked the tire size calculator here on 285/75/16 and it looks really close?

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=265-75r16-285-75r16

    is this right?

I never really looked at the difference in inches but it seems insanely small.

would it even be worth to jump up to 285s?

You don't buy a truck for its fucking fenders!
    2.5" lift w/35's
285s are about an inch bigger than the 265s. That extra inch of tire definitely looks better and every inch counts when offroad. Unless you do a few other modifications, chances are you're going to rub with 285s. I personally don't care about rubbing, I'm running 315s with 5100s and 887 coils. I have a body mount relocation, cut my fenders and beat the shit out of the pinch weld. They don't rub on the frame, but they do rub on the firewall.

Im in the same boat. Done a lot of research. I’m going to go to a 265/75/16. 285’s will hit mpg’s along with wear on drivetrain etc plus . Re gear. 265’s will meet my needs more. Do your research and get what meets your needs.
