Hi everyone, I'm still new here and am trading in a 2 door jeep for a brand new trd off road. I'm planning ahead and I'm trying to see what size tires you all have gotten to fit with a 2" lift and no fabrication or chop? So basically with an offset rim, lift, and UCA or anything else you have done.

I am probably going to go with a kit from accutune. I'm sure you can fit big tires on one with a spacer or block lift but for many reasons I am looking to avoid those.

    Thanks
    ryan

Are you planning on off-roading ?

Stock tire size unless you want some serious tire rub if you go offroad at all. You have to remember even if it looks like it clears at the tire shop the minute your compress the suspension and turn the wheel it's going to dry hump everything in the wheel well like a 14 year old that just found PornHub.

edit - to clarify a lift is actually useless for tire clearance unless you are just talking about driving straight on pavement.

First off, LMAO second off, should I go for extended travel suspensions that are 3.5" lift? I really do want to avoid spacers and blocks. But those extended set ups are expensive.

I'm asking because I've heard that a CMC and trimming the fender line can lead to quicker rust and other frame issues, is that true?

Extended travel and taller lifts of any sort do not solve the problem for off roading because when the suspension compresses you still rub...lifts ONLY solve tire rub driving straight on pavement. Doing a CMC is not going to cause frame issues and it is also not going to solve tire rub, you will still rub the mud flat, inner fender liner & pinch weld. There is only one product available to solve the problem and it is the LCA tab kit from JD Fab that moves your lower control arms forward an inch + away from all that shit.

Okay. Not to keep asking questions but do you think you can run 33's or 34's with that LCA kit without CMC or trimming and not get tire rub?

well no, all of the stock LCA mounting points are cut off of the frame and a whole new sub frame piece is welded in their place with new super beefy lca tabs. You are still going to rub the front portion of the inner fender with 33's ie: the area below the battery. there is no easy way to fully 100% clear big tires and anyone telling you otherwise is either an idiot or a mall crawler.

JD Fab also makes hi clearance inner fenders...again major mods

Tacomas aren’t like Jeeps, it takes lots of work to fit 35s, major work for 37s. Even 33s take cmc and trimming if you’re going offroad.
