Wow, I know the struggle of being in college but that "budget" build was way more than I can afford NOW, being out of college with a job haha! Looks like a great truck!

Up next on the purchase list
-King Coilovers w/ Resi's for Front
    -U-Bolt Flip Kit
    -Shackle Flip kit
-Smittybilt or Viair Compressor (Currently using two at a time right now, lol)
-255/80/17 tires either Cooper or Toyo. Need something with stiffer sidewalls, as thats how I blew out my Hankook.
-New rims..Or a new plastidip job lol

I'm still working 40 hours a week + doing photography gigs on the side to fund for this hobby, lol. Planning on getting everything setup before summer, than taking a month off work to travel!

As a fellow college student, I’ve gotta say that the most impressive part of this build is the budget. Was too busy with the pics to notice a final build price. where are ya at?

Right now we are $18,601.98 in. About $4,500 in stuff added. Tent and shell are about 1/4th of the total build price, lol.

Ripped off some plastidip and got some new tires! Just some Jeep take offs in 255/75/17. Honestly, I hate them with a passion already. I forgot how terrible mud terrains are on the freeway...Debating selling these already and switching to some Falken Wildpeak 285/70/17 as I keep seeing so many great reviews on them. I have always stuck with skinnier sized tires to help my MPG...but it may be time to forget about gas mileage.

Also purchased the Lifetime Firestone Alignment for $169.99. Made good chat with the techs beforehand so they got to know me a little and hopefully care for my truck a little more! IMG_9717.jpgIMG_9715.jpg

They are brand new! They have ~200 miles on them. I just drive so much that I don't know if I can stand keeping them on for another 30k miles. I can sell them for how much I bought them though (or more).

Truck looks sick man!! I just bought a camper for mine this weekend. I'm currently leveled out with Bilstein 5100's. Plan to follow in your steps with Dakars and OME 883. Just put 33's BFG KO2's on. Like you I don't want to go any bigger for sake of gas mileage. I'm still getting 16-18mpg, but I also drive like an old man. Ill probably to sliders, front and rear bumpers next.

Woo! It’s a good way to go. I will say though, if a mid travel setup is in the budget...Do that. I wish I did it first instead of buying Bilsteins!

I wish I could afford to do a mid travel! I will just be using this truck for mild off roading, camping, and maybe some overlanding. It was leveled before I put the camper top on it. Now the rear squats about 3/4". The stock leafs suck!!

For those who follow this build...What tire would you pick? 255/80/17 Cooper St Maxx or 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak? Making the decision tomorrow and want some more opinions!

I've heard lots of awesome things about that Cooper. Haven't heard much about the Falken. That Cooper is like the MT and HT hybrid correct?

The choice was made and Cooper St Maxx's were put on...Then the guy broke a stud and cross threaded some more.

Now to figure out why my truck pulls hard to the right with these new tires. Alignment is all in spec. Read a few threads on the Coopers doing this.

I would usually say it's fine, but if I let go of the wheel for a second it darts me into the next lane within 100 feet. Going back to America's Tire on Friday to figure out the issue!

Look at the tires from the front of the truck...

You will notice that the outer tread blocks on one of the front tires is going opposite of the other...

    That is your problem..

    You won't fix it..

I've had lots of tires that do this...

    Better buy another set now...

Well a little update on everything. Here's how the last few days have gone
    Day 1:
    -New Cooper St Maxx's installed
-Broke 3 studs on my spacers

    Day 2:
-Noticed a pull to the right
-Contacted America's Tire to get the issue taken care of. They said it was my alignment

    Day 3 (today)
-Got another alignment. Had to set my caster settings 1.4 degrees apart to get the tires to stop pulling. Left caster: 1.4 Right caster: 2.7...Left camber: -0.3 Right camber: 0.4
-Went to get my studs replaced by the place America's Tire sent me to. They didn't have long enough studs. Charged me $15 to take off all 4 spacers. Got into a huge argument with the manager about paying the fee which I was not told about. Got really heated when he turned into a dick and almost took it outside to practice my last 10 years of training in MMA (It's $15, but I'm not paying for something I never agreed to). Manager threw the keys at me (legit threw them) and I left.
-Called America's Tire, told them I wanted to use my 30-day return policy and order new tires. Manager there got into an argument with me as well over the phone about me changing tires. Order was ultimately placed for 4x new 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks which come in next week.

Today's been crazy fun, lol. I actually was hoping the manager of the repair shop would swing first...It takes a LOT to get me heated but he sure knew how to be an a**hole!
