That could happen but I doubt it. Chances are he'll be stopped by a Hispanic LEO anyways. LE here isn't a bunch of white supremacists like some would like to believe.

If you are a legal resident and have a good drivers license and history then there is no problem. Doesn't bother me.

Yeah I see your points, very well explained, like I said, I dont condone it, for me, illegals on the US, are there because of the fact they are trying to support their families, its more of a social condition than a felony, I agree, a lot of them create trouble for the US citizens, but my point is, there are other ways of dealing with it.

Now with the American living Illegally on Mexico, Americans dont even need a Visa or Passport to hang out here close to the border. And Ive met a lot of Americans living in Mexico. I know, its not the same proportionally speaking.

Why should it be any different when you guys come here? At least our Police don't bride us for money among other shady things.

My issue with the law is that it sets no ground rules for what constitutes "appearing" to be an illegal immigrant. As i understand it before this was signed a LEO had to have cause to stop someone, some other illegal/suspicious act, basically the same as when a seatbelt ticket was a secondary offence, you had to be pulled over for something else, not just the seatbelt.

Now the only reasoning is because that person "looked" illegal to him? Not only is that unconstitutional, and basically illegal, but it sets one hell of a precendance for future laws.

I don't want to antagonize with you guys, its not the objective, I just want you to think outside the basket, to analyze the social conditions prior to the illegal factor, what motivates a man to leave his family, travel xxxx miles, cross a desert and put his life in danger...

And I will say before this turns into a shit storm that I for one can totally understand why they feel the need to leave their oppressed country. They want a better life. I get it. And I also believe that the US needs to change the process and encourage Mexico to do the same. But unless those issues are addressed then we have no choice it may already be too late. But we have to do something.

We have been living outside the box for many years putting up with the ILLEGAL immigration. I am all for people coming here LEGALLY, like my mother did from japan.

If you don't like the way a store does business, don't shop there.

I dont think so, all you need is an ID, not a visa or travel document, and that is if the officer wants to, but there is no need.... no wonder why 18 yr olds go to Mexico to drink before turning 21.. :p

that's a damn good point. And i think that if most people on here that work their butt's off to make a living and have a decent life happened to be born in Mexico, we would be the ones sneaking over the border to better our lives. At least I bet I would.

Nope. To go into Sonora we now need our Passports to cross the Border. Its been this way for a few months if not longer.

Any ideas come to mind? I think it would interesting hearing ideas from your side of the boarder.

Seems like we have to wait for an illegal to do something illegal before we throw him back on the right side of boarder.

I found this online just now.

ATTENTION! YOU WILL NEED A VALID PASSPORT TO TRAVEL TO MEXICO.

As of June 2009, to enter Mexico you will need a valid passport. U.S. and Canadian Citizens do not require a visa to enter Mexico.

Citizens of other countries may require a visa to enter Mexico. Click here to learn which countries do and do not require a visa to travel to Mexico.

For U.S. citizens, we have provided some quick links to assist you in attaining or renewing a U.S. passport.

Yeah, I know, it must stop at one point. And the way I see it, the process to enter Mexico/Us should be reciprocal.

It is very, very very difficult to obtain only a border crossing card... this people need to make a living for their families, not in 1, 2 5 or 10 years they need it ASAP. Do you think if it was easier for them to cross/work legally on the US they wouldn't want to???

I dont know, what a bout a temp job permit? wouldn't that allow more control over who enters, what is he doing and when does he has to leave? i know there are work visas, but believe me, a guy that works as a farmer wont get one....

I see what you did there, LOL, maybe not racist on the full meaning of the word, but the officer would be a US citizen, and the illegal wont... so the condition remains.

Yeah, you are right, i remembered that, they changed a law or something a few months ago, but the process to obtain a Visa in Mexico isnt 1/10 of the process to get one on the US.
