Hi, I've looked around, and although many seem similar, I haven't seen the exact setup that I have with the same question.

I currently have a 2004 TRD Double Cab with Bilstein 5100 in the front (set at "0"), 5125 in the rear - with NEW rear leafs (from getting frame replaced), but original coil springs in the front. I run Michelin LTX MS2 for tires at around 34psi.

Although I like the control and capability it gives me off road (mainly dirt/logging roads) I still find it very stiff in general driving on pavement. I don't plan on getting any sort of lift (unless that would help stiffness somehow - doubt it). Any suggestions for helping with stiffness but still getting decent offroad capabiltiy? I've seen Eibach/OME suggestions, but again I have zero lift...

    Thanks in advance!

I run the 5100s' on my truck set at 1.25 setting, ride is a little more firm, I am puzzled as to why yours would be stiff set a 0.

Thanks for your reply Stumpman. Me too. When I first bought the truck, it had the stock Toytec shocks, leafs, etc. At that point it was very stiff.

After getting new leafs with the frame and Bilsteins in front and rear, I notice better control/handing/etc but not a HUGE difference in stiffness in general driving over bumps etc. Maine winters with frost heaves makes for quite a bouncy ride on pavement...

I would start by lowering your tire pressure a little. I run mine a 28 psi and it makes a big difference. It will cut your mpgs a little but it will help the ride.

Maybe the OEM springs are worn out. Try replacing the spring with a new one.
