Would OME 881 coils work with bilsteins in front? I'm thinking running this setup. 5100s on all fours with OME 881s in front with .5 in. Top plate spacer, and a rear aal. Is this a good setup? Do I have to worry about blowing cv boots? Thanks

I (and several other TW members) are quite happy with our Bilstein 5100 & OME 881 combo. Some find that setup a little "harsher" than they prefer and pair OME Nitrochargers with their 881s instead.

I can't speak with any authority to the spacer plate or AAL, since I have no experience with either. I can, however, tell you that our OEM springs are notoriously weak. Depending on how far gone yours are, an AAL may or may not be a good idea. (If they're really shot, replacing the leafs is a better option.)

Well I can't afford new leaf packs sadly. But do you like this setup? Does it ride smooth? Thanks for your help

I understand! It seems there are always more toys than available fundage... :(

I'm VERY happy with the 5100/881 combo. IMO, it rides and handles really well. It's definitely more firm than stock (some folks find it firmer than they prefer) but many others like it.

My setup is NOT pre-loaded, nor is that recommended for the 881/5100 combo. The lift comes from the springs themselves.

For your 2nd Gen, you'll probably want to look at OME 885/886 springs, depending on your specific application. I'm not sure, but I don't think they're recommended for pre-loading either.
