So I have had my bilstein 5100's on my truck for a few days "had a shop assemble them for me" and I kept noticing a "tink" sound. I jacked it up and noticed on my drivers side the retaining washer that should go above the dust boot was placed under the dust boot so it is just bouncing around between the shock body/dust boot. Do I need to take this thing back off and have them reassemble it correctly. Will it hurt anything? I'm kinda pissed about the whole situation.

The first time I went to pick up the assembled coil/shocks they had the damn spring seats upside down and told me the springs would not fit on the highest setting so they put them on stock setting. I informed them the seats were upside down and if you flipped them it wouldn't be an issue. I'm getting really pissed the more I think about this whole situation.

    Any advice is appreciate.

I would say take it back and tell them to do it right, but it sounds like that shop is full of idiots.

Rent a spring from compressor form your local auto parts store (usually free), and do it yourself.

Yea I am feeling like it's a bunch of idiots that work there as well. I'm getting really tired of dealing with them. I may do it myself like you suggested.

Yeah, even if it's technically their responsibility to make it right, they've already screwed up a SIMPLE shock install *twice*.

You could always go back and try for third time's a charm...

I'm assuming you paid to have it done correctly...for that reason I would go back and have them make it right, even if I had to stand there and watch them do it. Maybe see if you can get some of the money you paid back since they did not provide the service you paid for.

I am honestly tired of dealing with them. I will probably just fix it myself and stop by to let the owner know it still wasn't correct.

Wow, You have more patience than me. My vehicles, my life, my money. 3 things not to screw with. They already are 2 strikes in. They'd refund my money and do the damn job right after replacing all the crap they broke.

I almost took a 400 mile trip with the family in my truck this weekend as well. That would not have been a good thing to have break.
