    Hey guys got my 5100's in yesterday. But i was wondering if this is an issue. The lower seat where the coil sits is pretty jammed. I know on these, they are suppose to be loose and not welded into place.

    i tried loosing it up with my hands but i couldn't. I'm pretty sure that it will come loose with a good whack with a mallet. but i wouldn't want to warp the seat...

    any thoughts?

    also are you guys sing dust boots on your fronts? are they needed.

    take a rubber mallet and give it a good whack, it should come loose. it looks like it just slid down crooked and jammed itself.

    I think they are a must fro up front. Helps keep water from settling on the top of the piston and making the O rings go bad.

    Rear Billys you don't need boots as the shaft faces down.

    When i installed mine, i forgot to put the boot on the one side. So i put one the other side to see if it would do anything.

    You mounted the cylinder up or down. Your suppos to put the shock facing down with the cylinder at the top
