881s then. It won't be as rough a ride

That's kinda what I figured. I'm running a spacer lift now so I know all about rough rides.

Surprised they would recommend that for a stock truck. The description on there site for 883 even says they are only meant for 1st gene with a LOT of added weight up front. The 882's are recommended for the DC v6 though or ext. Cab with extra weight.

On a side note, when I had my Bilstein/Eibach lift ToyTec recommended that I put my Bilsteins on the 2nd setting w/ those 3" springs since I have a 4wd V6 DC. I tried it at first and it was way too much preload! Gotta do your own research. Some places just want to make a buck. That was the only time I'd ever got info from ToyTec like that. They're usually right on!

update. FINALLY had a chance to take a little trail run. She certainly has loosened up a bit since initial install. Still a little rough on the street up front with the eibachs, but oddly enough, is WAY smoother on the trail..

Tried to flex her out. Think I got it maxed out in the rear at one spot. Which with the 5100's and dakars, is like the perfect amount of flex. Get's my 33's stuffed in pretty good and no rubbing!! I was pleasantly surprised. Especially since people seemed to highly suggest I needed to do a shock relocate with extended shocks in the rear... Plenty of flex for me and MUCH more capable than previous setup with spacers and blocks.

Had a little bit of rubbing on the lower valence up front, but that'll be gone soon once I get my relentless bumper mounted up. So I will most likely just keep it as is. I wasn't too happy at first with the eibachs, but with my bumper, I think it'll be just fine. I was thinking I was gonna swap to some ome coils and eventually ome shocks, maybe some extended droop coilovers, remove overloads from dakars to even it out as well.. But I'm happy with how it is. And I get to keep my 3".

That's some nice droop and nice stuffing you got going on there. Solid review as well.

Well it does look promising. But I need to delve deeper and make sure everything's articulating and functioning properly. Such as making sure I'm not gonna bottom/top out the shocks too harshly. Kinda a noob to this. And probly don't really need to worry so much as I'm never gonna be thrashing/jumping it. But it'd be a good idea for me to really test it again and see if there's any reason I'd need to take extra precautionary measures. Like bump stops. I think it'll be fine tho, with my cautious offroading habits as it is. Anything high speed wouldn't be enough to worry about I think. The dakars and bilsteins seem to have little sway and are pretty stout until you really get them flexing. I'm sure the 620lb Eibachs are contributing with that resistant sway as well. Even without a sway bar. Seems like it anyways. I may be wrong, idk, lol. Does that make sense? Am I thinking correctly? If so, idk if that's a pro or con in my case. Ha.

Need some advice. I have the 2001 Toyota 4dr 4wd in the picture and it has 290,000 miles on it. The suspension is shot. Making sure I understand everything I need to replace it. I will need 5100 bilsteins but what coils?? and what do I need for the rear. I really do not want a lift on it but wouldn't mind if the front end was leveled. Thanks RIck

OME 880 coils on OME shocks will ride better. It'll seem like it'll be a lift too because your so low right now, you're well below OME specs in terms of height. Just be ready for that.
Wheelers 4 pack leafs would be nice for the back and OME shocks again.

The OME shocks are better quality then 5100s.

If you go to Wheelers Offroad they can set you up with a full kit with the above specs.

Hory chet. Really? I thought Bilstien was a better shock than Old Man Emu. Not questioning you guys, just been out of the OME loop for a few years. What do you like better about OME shocks? Do they last as long as the OEM Billies?

MUCH longer then 5100s. The 5100s also tend to get stiff over their life then just blow all their oil out.

Mine last 2 years of wheeling.
