Any of you gentlemen seen this one? Shock unscrewed from lower mount. Contacted Bilstein and received only finger pointing (at me) and blame assignment (again at me). Note the shock appears wet because I had just sprayed everything down with Kroil, and the photo with the threaded end way up in the air is because I had a jack beneath the differential. Any thoughts or fix ideas appreciated. Bilstein ultimately told me to Loktite the threaded end back into the mount.

Bilstein 5100 shocks coupled with OME Dakar CS046 springs.

Yes the shock probably wasn’t assembled correctly. However I’d be surprised if Bilstein accepted responsibility.

Oh trust me, Jose Trieu at Bilstein (ThyssenKrupp) blamed me for a lift kit? WTF? I then sent pics of my Dakar springs on my rig and he said the springs are flat and obviously worn out. Appalling customer service and I'm looking at alternates.

Thanks for your reply. Good day to you....

just because springs are flat doesn't mean they are worn out. my new truck came with flat springs from Toyota.

I know people that love their dobinson stuff. I won’t touch rancho with a 10ft pole. Leaky leaky really quick on all the shit I’ve ever installed them on

Take a quick look at the Eibach also, I'm very happy with them on 2 trucks.

Here is my stage 2 r Eibach. Don’t intend to do any radical off-roading. Just 285 70 17. They suit my purpose F1CD67AD-6E4D-4CA1-B6BC-BA1123AC2031.jpgAD8E8B40-4F3B-409F-B536-E7E6882B08B2.jpg 34719446-13B0-4559-9B02-4193AAA0F1C2.jpg

They look great - right now I'm just replacing the rears though. I fired off a nasty-gram to Bilstein Germany informing them of my experience, a token act. Thanks for the reply!

I’m guessing this happened because your shocks were being used as limit straps.

Update: Dobinson's arrived from Florida, installed, performed awesome on a brutal late season cow elk hunt.

The world has become ripe with mediocrity, and its largely accepted. Glad I saw this before I purchased my suspension upgrade. Who's better in terms of customer service? Fox? King? Emu? I'm not familiar with Dobinson's shocks, although I've heard of their leaf springs (I'm new to this world for the most part!)

Justin in this thread put this on me and not Bilstein, so take that into account.

I've only dealt with Old Man Emu and Bilstein up until now, never dealt with Fox or King. I will say Dobinson's is my new fetish and wouldn't hesitate buying anything with their name, granted these are only rear shocks but my god they are built head and shoulders better than Bilstein. Customer service @ OME and Dobinson's has been great.

    Happy New Year
