    I've done that method a few times (including last night) and it's fucking awesome. Highly recommend it.

    PlastiDip front emblem, twine, and Scotch tape
    Ideally, you want 2 jacks for this. Or at least put the truck on stands.
    You have to almost off the truck at the LCA with a jack to get it to compress enough. Also, you need muscle that top nut until it truly stops. Take another look at my pic and you'll see threads showing

    Thanks for the advise. I ordered a replacement bushing and washer kit, so I know I'll have the correct parts. I'll let you know how it goes.

    I have almost the exact same issue but only on the drivers side. I believe the bushing attached to the inside of the top hat is still present in my top hat. Any other ideas on what could cause my drivers side top bushing not to compress all the way? Passenger and drivers side shown below. Drivers side has HS 1/4" spacer installed. It baffles me that at least the same amount of thread is showing on both sides with the bushing not compressing the same amount.20180420_065739.jpg 20180420_065721.jpg
