For the guys here who are stock and wish to see how their Tacoma will look with the 5100's set to .85".

    1.jpg

Photo on left is before, right is after. This is a stock 2008 TRD Sport 4x4 with the three leaf pack and 265/65/17 tires. 5100's were set to .85" for leveling. I'm actually seeing a small "bro lean" even with the three leaf pack!!!!

It took me five tries before finding someone who would install these today! My regular mechanic didn't have the spring compressor. I checked with Firestone, Monroe and two local 4x4 shops and nobody wanted to do the job! I went to Midas as a last resort and they installed them in about an hour for $200 including an alignment.

On the way home I start hearing a "grinding" noise to which I promptly sh*t a golden twinkie thinking something was screwed up! It ended up the guy slightly bent the brake shield and it was rubbing the rotor ever so slightly!

Sounds like you got the Midas touch.

    Looks good.

I have the 4 leaf pack and 1.75" is almost nose high. Ended up lifting the rear 1" to get a little rake back.

Did you happen to take before and after measurements?

Can you tell any difference in the ride?

bueller, I did take measurements but can't recall what they were. I 'believe' the rear was about 1.2" higher than the front.

duckfan, yes, I can notice a slight difference from the stock Billies. The ride is a bit more harsh with the 5100's. Not much but I can notice it a little. Whether it will settle down as the shocks break in remains to be seen.

I did the same, but my rear was level with the front , Weight of cap made it level.

What coils are recommended with the bilsteins? I just had a Procomp setup installed on my '12 prerunner and it's stiff as hell and rides nose high. So I'm trying to figure out what I can do to soften the ride and lower the front a bit. for the 3" lift, it looks like the front is 4+" high.
    thanks

I used the stock TRD Sport coils. Everything is the same on my vehicle that came off the line except the Bilstein 5100's that I changed yesterday.
