Finally found the time and money to get these on my truck. That front spacer is 1.5” thick, so before i install the new struts I just wanted to know what ride height I’m supposed to set these at (0-2.5”) anyone got the same or similar set up?

So you have a 3" spacer on the truck now and now your'e adding bilsteins? I think a 3" spacer lifts front about 5-6" already. What ride height are you trying to achieve?

So you'll be removing the spacer and then installing the 5100's??? Most people do .85 or 1.75 as I think setting them at 2.5 will be to much pre load on the springs

How does a 3 inch spacer lift the truck 5-6 inches?

I was thinking too literal, like the spacer is actually 3" thick. His is 1.5" to give 3", because it doubles as a rule of thumb with spacers

Lol okay let me clarify. The spacer is a 3” lift. I’m adding the bilsteins because I have the stock ones on still at the moment and they aren’t long enough. Basically what I’m asking is if I keep the spacer there, would I just run the struts at the 0 mark?

I am not entirely certain how an extended length shock such as the 5100 will work with a 3" front spacer lift tbh. Also, where did you get those 5100's at? I have not seen the part number. p#24-280745. or 24-280785 its hard to tell from pic

You should ditch the spacers altogether and max out the 5100s on the last ring to get 2.5" in front if you don't want to buy anything else. Maybe get 1/2" spacer to get your full 3" if you need it. I ASSUME the 5100s with spacer would function as a normal factory shock set at 0. I'm hoping someone can come along and clarify this, because you may need extended bumpstops.

If I were you, I would buy some ome885 coils to go with the 5100s set on 0 for a much better ride that gives 2.5". Again, throw in a 1/2" spacer or full 3".

    All the mods
5100s on zero setting + OME 887 coils = 3" and a nice ride. Ditch the spacers.

What’s weird is when I originally went the spacer route, someone told me that this spacer with 5100’s would be a “great idea.” I just called the guy at bilstein and without hesitation he said remove it and install the 5100’s at 2.5” because in the end it’ll destroy my ball joints. Thanks for the replies everyone. Now just a video on how to remove that spacer or any advice would be great lmao my mechanic is going to kill me

Your mechanic needs a video or advice on how to remove a spacer? I hope you mean for you. You can tackle this in your driveway with the right tools and a friend.

I had spacers and removed the spacer to install the 5100 at the heighest position. I never like the ride since day 1. Since I don’t do any off road, next week I’m going back to the spacers and setting the 5100 at the lowest lever.

I'm not sure what you mean by difference so I'm gonna say No.

I actually ran this setup for a few months before adding the Fox's to the rear. I just used the factory bilsteins. Obviously the Fox's ride alot better. I tend to keep them on the softest setting as the truck bed is typically empty. When I do adjust them for a heavier load, it's does make a difference in how controllable the rear feels. I have yet to tow anything since adding them but I think that is where I will get the most money out of the compression adjustors.

As far as the JBA UCAs, I do like them. I have no experience with other UCAs so I wouldn't really know what to look for. They kept my alighnment numbers good after lifting and don't hit the coil at droop like OEM ones can when you approach the 3in mark. The only negative I can think of is the amount of surface rust that is visible on the Ball joint assembly. I'm going to replace them this year at some point as I don't like seeing rust under my 3 year old truck, especially on my new suspension components.

I’m not necessarily for keeping the spacers. The only reason I asked in the first place was because when I originally planned out my lift for the truck, someone along my line of asking for advice, advised me that this spacer with 5100’s would be a good set up. Not until recently am I learning that spacer with the shocks will just destroy my ball joints so I’m actually just going to removed the spacers and just have my billies set to 2.5 with my stock coils for now. In the near future (after taxes) I’ll probably throw some 884 coils or something to get back to my 3”, but I never wanted to go over that. UCAs are too out of budget for me and this is just a daily driver so I’m fine with that
