What possible problems could I have if I set the 5100's at 1.75 to level out with my TSB rears. Still have stock setup on the entire front end. I plan to keep the truck till the wheels fall off, just don't want to create a maintenance issue down the road.

    Good evening,
Figured I would throw in my 2 cents...
Honestly at 1.75" you should not have any issues and you will just need to have the truck Aligned after you install the shocks because you are changing the ride height.
After that it should be smooth sailing...

    Good evening TACOMA WORLD!!

It was brought to our attention today (Thanks WPTaco) that there are concerns about warranty on the 5100 shocks we sell. So allow me to clear it up. (hopefully)

The 5100 shocks we sell, are covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty, against manufacturer defects through RCD, not Bilstein. It covers the construction of the shock against any defects. Shocks are considered wearable parts, so they are not covered against wearing out. But if they leak, or otherwise fail under normal use, you're covered.

Apparently there was a member who contacted Bilstein about warranty, and was told they don't warranty the part#s BE5-C477-TO & BE5-C478-TO. But that's only because these numbers are "Private Label" and exclusively distributed by RCD. So the warranty is offered/handled by RCD.

All that being said, you guys know that if you ever have an issue with your shocks, we'll take care of you. Then we'll worry about getting credit from the vendor for the part later. That way it's painless for you.

Just don't send us a shock, with a taco shaped shaft, and expect a warranty;) That would not fall under "normal" use....hahaha!

Thanks, guys & gals!! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

    Marco @ DSM

Got my front and rear 5100s last night; they are a sight to see. Hopefully getting the rear suspension TSB this week so it'll all be set for the new shocks. Thanks to Marco and Sonny for a smooth transaction.

Just found out i'm getting a nice refund from the IRS this week....gonna get a set of these from DownSouth for front and rear and get some Spidertrax wheel spacers too. THE TACOMA PROJECT HAS OFFICIALLY BEGUN FOR ME!!!! Now i just need to decide between powder coating the factory sport rims black, getting the Anthracite FJ rims or getting new aftermarket rims.

I'm hoping to get a set of fronts and rears in the next few weeks as well. Question though. How are the stock springs with this setup? Can you use Eibach's instead? What are the advantages?

EDIT: Nvmd. i just read it in the lift section....
