I would like to level my 2016 tacoma double cab long bed 4x4 sport and I'm not sure what to get. I have looked on the previous posts that I could find on the subject matter and I know that most people run the 5100s maxed out with stock springs. I would like to maintain or improve my current ride quality due to back issues so I would like to keep the 5100s at the 0 setting. Would I be better off going with 2" spacers or 887 OME 2" springs?

Thanks everyone, will the 5100s be long enough to support the 2" OME lift springs? Please excuse my ignorance if this sounds like a stupid question.

I am not familiar with the 3rd gen suspension, but a handful of people run 887s on 5100s with no issues

I just installed 5100's and OME 887's on my truck 17 DCLB Sport. I was concerned about it being stiff as I really liked the factory ride. I'm happy to say the ride is very close to factory lust a little bit stiffer. You will also want to run something in the rear unless you like the pre runner look.

    .

Did you end up running a block or did you just extend the rear 1"?

I'm running a block as I didn't want to stiffen the ride with an aal

What is the advantage of the AAL vs block?

there is a standard AAL and a Progressive AAL. Progressive AAL are designed to maintain factory ride.
a 1" block won't have much axle wrap and will maintain same ride quality. It would be fine, but progressive AAL aren't that much

Springs but ask @HeadStrong Off-Road , maybe a shorter OME might be a better choice to level unless you want to add a rear lift.

For me personally speaking just say no to blocks! My friends rides with blocks are garbage. My 2 cents. And the single AAL was not that expensive.

Just curious, what vehicle are they on and how are they garbage? My friend has them on his 01 F150 and his truck rides like a dream compared to ours.

Nissan Frontier and 07-08? F150. My take is my new 17 Trd stock sport was too sloppy. The set up I have now again "for me" is perfect.

Are you able to fit the coveted 28570r17 sized tires on your sport with that set up?

That I wouldn't be able to answer. You'd probably need to get upper control arms. Just do yourself a favor and call Marie. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows her shit! In the meantime just look around on this forum and see what others are using with that tire set up.

Ive got 887's on 5100's with dakars in the rear. Very happy with the ride. To level out i added a 1/2" spacer on the driver side and a 1/4" spacer on the passenger. 2.75" of lift and alignment is right there.

Lowrange or Headstrong you can't go wrong with either one.
