Hey all! Just ordered four 5100s all around for my 2020 Tacoma DCSB OR. Will I be fine on 1.1" up front, no rear? Just installed caliraised sliders this weekend and don't plan on adding anything else for the foreseeable future.

Hoping this all levels out? May possibly do 1.55" with an AAL for a rake. I don't tow but I may occasionally load up the back with furniture wife decides she wants...

Before a road trip, I got the fronts installed. 4th clip position on the left and 3rd on the right. Perfect 1.5in of rake and just a hair of anti-Taco Lean when no one is onboard.

Check after fronts with 3/4 tank and new front body mounts:
    LF: 22 1/8in RF: 21 7/8in
    LR: 23 5/8in RR: 23 1/4in

    PXL_20210727_012037343.NIGHT.jpg

Handled like a champ on the first half of the trip. Feels great.

Looks good! I just decided to buy the wheeler's 1.5" add-a-leaf. This will work with the 5100 rears correct? If I get this, I now plan on raising the front to the 4th clips. I think this will retain some rake as well?

    A bunch of junk
    Advice needed,

I have a 21 trd offroad. I bought (for cheap) a set of 886 coils, 5100 rear shocks and ome add a leaf for the rear (not sure the specs on it) but can I have that stuff thrown on, and use the coils for the front on stock bilstein offroad suspension with no issues? Basically a slight lift but needed this stuff to offset hauling some weight in the bed.

Awesome to hear man! I did some measurements and I have a 1.75" rake right now:

    DF: 20
    DR: 21 3/4
    PF: 20 1/4
    PR: 22

If I did 2" in the front, and 1.5" in the rear, looks like I'll still be at a 1" rake. I guess I can go either 1.5 or 2.

I'd go to 5 with add a leafs. I did 4 with a 1" block in the rear.

Man just saw your truck on another post. Now I'm definitely going 2" front with my 1.5" AAL in the rear! Looking good dude! I'm gonna be a stock tires for awhile though but I don't want to go back and readjust later on lol

Hey yall, just read through this entire thread. I have a 17 offroad DCLB. I'm looking for minor lift with improved driving on a budget. Landed on the Bilstein 5100s. After reading all this I am happy to find out I won't need new springs or UCAs. Though I might opt to buy new UCAs anyways we will see. Trying to decide on what to do for the rear. In the future I will be getting a camper shell. Truck is used for camping and occasional hauling for the most part. Should I go with AAL or get a whole new leaf pack? Is a progressive pack a good option? Any brands to stay away from or that I should definitely go with? TIA

How much lift you want to do in front? Really depends on that to determine how much lift in rear you want. IMO lift the front you should lift the rear to retain some rake for loading. Full leaf pack if you have a constant load I would get one , If not I think an aal or a 3 leaf aal would work for your application.

    Good Luck

Initially I was hoping for 2" all around. Probably going to do the 4th notch up front. Besides the shell I wouldn't really have anything else as a constant load. I was leaning towards the 3 spring AAL. Some AAL packs mention that extended struts, rather than standard, may be required. I assume the standard 5100 rears should be fine for even the 3 leaf right? 4

4th setting with the AAL along with your shell your ride will be fine. Rears are good

I am in the same boat. 5100's fit my budget but so confused on the rear. The last mod that will add weight to mine is an ARE MX which they advertise at 190 pounds. I don't know how reliable that is so I am going to ask my dealer when it gets installed if they have the exact weight. I am simply estimating 200 pounds to keep it simple. My constant load will be:
    1. ARE MX Shell - 200 pounds
    2. Bed Mat - 30-35 pounds (est)
    3. Bed Stiffeners - 10-20 pounds (estimate)
So I am already at 250-260 pounds and I have rock sliders at 150 pounds and Prinsu at 40 pounds. Some of that weight has to impact the rear suspension I would think. So lets say I am at 300 pounds of constant load. I don't know if I should be doing an AAL or going full n with something like a Deaver Stage 1 or 2 leaf pack.

I would like to go 1.5" to 2" on the front with the 5100's, and do the same on the rear and still have some rake with the 300 pound constant load with maybe some room add a little more weight. Even just adding my hitch bike rack up that is 65 pounds and add 3 bikes puts me at 120 extra pounds. I don't want to be sagging just by taking the bikes out.

The front is relatively clear to me, the rear is confusing as all heck!

IMO you should definitely look into a leaf pack. Myself when I’m ready to upgrade probably going with Icon or deaver in the future
