Hello all, I have a 06 Tacoma that has bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks (on the lowest setting) and eibach coils up front. I'm looking to add a spacer up front for a little more lift, are there specific spacers that I need to use or will any work? And how much spacer can I have before it destroys my ride quality? thank you for any input

Quick observation, why fuck up your ride quality with a spacer, if anything I might bump the 5100's up a notch providing its not too much preload on the eibachs

To adjust the 5100's you have to completely disassemble it, correct? I was just trying to avoid taking the shock out of the coilover because it was such a huge pain in the ass to get it together the first time

And while we're on the subject, how many notches do you all feel would be okay on the coilovers? I left it on the first notch because the kit said to do so on the 4 cylinder models or "damage may occur".

I have Billys set at 1.75 on stock springs and added toytec 1/4 top plates on each side for an even 2 inch. Top plates don't change spring rate and are barely noticeable... Wouldn't go to much past 1/4 inch though.

Well, you have the eibachs which are fairly stiff so going up ANY notch is going to increase preload (spring will become stiffer) Not sure how much eibachs raise 2nd gens. On 1st gens. it's 3" (some get slightly more) If you have to have a little more I guess you could survive a 1/2"-1" spacer & leave your strut setting at stock height (bottom groove)

Allpro makes a 1" leveling spacer that I was considering, but it says its made of polyurethane. Isn't polyurethane a soft material?

Polyurethane is a strong industrial plastic. Many body lifts, bushings, and spacers are made of it. Great chemical resistance and very durable. No worries my friend.

An inch wouldn't be too much would it?

I don't really know with your setup. If your complaint is you don't want to take the coils out then it's a no go. Top plate spacers still require removal of the coil overs. I would consider moving the cooks to .85 setting. Much more lift might require new upper control arms for alignment.
