I have a 2008 DCSB auto with a Leer topper on it. Down the road I’ll be looking at adding a rear bumper with tire swing out and double jerry cans. Skids eventually and mayyyyyybe sliders. I have a wife and three girls so we don’t do anything crazy trail wise.

We have a lightweight pop up camper trailer that we pull occasionally, my truck has the tow package.

Gear on a camping trip would consist of a few hundred pounds of gear between us all, sometimes our two golden retrievers. That would really be weekends only. Daily would consist of myself, the eventual rear bumper with spare, skids and the topper.

My daily commute is a whopping 8 miles round trip going 35 mph with about 4 stop signs and three traffic lights.

For suspension I’m looking for best comfort to $$ ratio for daily driving and being able to sustain long drives on highway/light trails. Currently sitting on 265/75/16 Cooper AT3 4S tires and don’t foresee a reason to go bigger. I’ve thought about it but my style of driving doesn’t warrant it. I would be fine staying stock height, but adding a little bit of lift would be nice, but not so much to need new UCAs.

    The options I’ve considered are:
Bilstein 5100 all around with OME coils, HS 3 AAL (don’t want squeaky Dakar’s)
Bilstein 6112/5160 combo with HS 3 AAL
OME? Been seeing mixed reviews for them on Tacos but good on Jeeps
    Other options?

Also assuming I’d need to add in some Sumo springs or similar for when I’m more loaded down. Budget would be ideally $1,500 or less. Still gotta justify it to the wife for approval. At the moment I’m leaning more towards the 6112/5160 combo but wanted to see what other options there were for my needs. Can this combo run a taller coil for the front? The website only lists lifting the front via the different notches but then ride quality suffers...
