Hey everyone, before I order some parts I wanted to see other Tacoma owners opinions on suspension upgrades. I don't want to lift the truck more than an inch or so due to driving almost 30k a year. I want to retain stock Upper control arms.

My current leaf springs are flat in the rear, and I hit bump stops often. I have two options I'm considering

Option 1 - Keep stock coil springs and leaf's, Put in some Bilstein 5100s and add air bags to the rear.

Option 2 - Dobinson's base complete kit, not IMS. I would replace the leaf springs with light duty ones.

ill consider other options as well!

I'd go with option 2. Stock flattened out leaf springs are never going to get better, and anything you do to them is only a bandaid fix. Full leaf pack > anything else.

20240413_054053.jpg I too had flat leafs and did not want to lift my rear anymore than necessary. General Spring HD settled at 1.25" and works fine for me for the couple hundred lbs of tools and equip I carry in bed, and no towing.

I didn't do Dobinson but I feel the OEM rear springs need replacing if you use the bed of the truck for any truck like stuff. :burp:

I agree, if i throw a dirt bike in the bed or hook up a trailer it will be on bump stops. Now i hit bump stops on speed bumps or train tracks! I'm leaning towards the Dobinson's Light duty leaf springs with air bags.
