If you have a DCSB 4.0 you should go with 885’s for a nice 2.5” lift like I have

    Hello All,

Do the OME 885's settle? Am reading the are good for 2.0-2.5 lift.

I have new set of 887s but I understand they lift 3" am only looking for 2.5" of lift so I dont have to install UCA and 2.5 will set me level.

Wheelers page says, 1.5 to 2.0" HeadStrong page says, 2.5"
    https://www.headstrongoffroad.com/uploads/1/1/8/4/11846658/lift_guide.pdf

Its for a 2014 DCSB Off Road no winch or bumper.

Those are good guidelines but it varies truck by truck. I got over 4 inches with 885 springs on my DCSB prerunner but my OEM springs were definitely worn out. It has been almost a year and it has settled only .25 inch.

Say what? Over 4” on an 885 coil, ain’t an 885 coil. Unless your Bilsteins weren’t on the 0 setting

Nope, the Bilsteins are on the 0 setting. The tag on the spring says 2885 but I suppose they could be 886, 887 or 888 springs that were mislabeled by ARB (OME). I imagine my factory springs were just extremely worn out. The upside though is that with SPC upper arms, 4" lift and the appropriate caster setting, I can run 34" tires without rubbing on the pinch weld. Probably will move up to 35" tires once I get new wheels.

I am in the same boat but found a good deal on fully assembled 5100s with 885s.

Thoughts, anyone? I know @EatSleepTacos thinks it will be too stiff for a 4cyl AC 4WD with no weight up front.

That’s what I have. It’s not stiff at all. Actually rides pretty good. I had a 2.5 inch day star spacer lift and with the 885 I got 2.75. Upper control arms are good with no rubbing also.

Not too stiff, just too high. 884 and 885 are the same spring rate, just different lengths.

Looked through a lot of this thread and have a 2010 DCSB. Have 5100s at 1.75 stock coils and TSB leaf in back. So definitely liking the 885 idea with 1/4 taco lean spacer.

Rear seems to be about .25-.5” higher right now. What would y’all recommend for the rear?

Also, thoughts on 1/2 spacer on driver and 1/4 on passenger with 885s? Think I’d need a UCA upgrade?

I would absolutely recommend the standard duty Dakar leaf pack.

I would love that pack, but may be a bit out of price range for now. What about an aal option? Or replace the tsb?

A few mods here and there and counting....
Wheelers 3 leaf aal. Progressive pack. With overload left in, should net you 2in, without 1.5. Rides smooth. Thats what i run(overload left in) and its been great.
