Bilstein 5100 w/ OME 885

Just for reference, I measured 23 5/8ths from center hub to fender in the front, both sides, with 1/2 in spacer driver and 1/4 in spacer passenger and set rear to 24 with air bags. 885 and 5100 set 0. Ride AMAZING!!!

 

Here's my 2006 2wd w/883's and adj. 5100 set at zero on the fronts and TSB leafs w/Firestone air bags at 10psi and 5100's on the rear.

I can only see 2 rings above the spring perch. How many do others see above their spring perch when set at the 0 setting?

 

MIne are roughly 8.25 from bottom to eye. So I’m like 90% sure yours are set on .85 and not 0”. And also I can feel all three upper rings, just couldn’t get a good pic.

 

Arghh! Thanks for all your help. I guess they'll have to come off to be 100% sure but I agree, they're most likely not set at 0

 

... and it continues. I took my truck to a shop, got it on the lift to look at it from underneath and it seems like the clip/perch is definitely on the bottom most setting. See pics I took.

 

How else could I be getting that amount of lift?

 

What’s the model number for you 5100s? Should be 24-239370 or 24-280785

 

Man I’m stumped! I literally don’t have a clue...though i can’t tell 100% from the pics that it is set on the bottom clip.

 

Maybe you should get some of the new black metal spring purch that come with the new ones? Seems that mine still lower than those silver metal ones you have

 

Is it just me or does the shock look narrower? I see the right part number but the shocks don't look the same to me. Also, look at the taper of the shock near the stem. The taper looks different. The tape measure from the bottom of the ring on OP's to the stem taper measures ~5" and the other pics it measures ~4".

 

Is it me or does the silver ones look like they seat higher than the black ones??

 

I think you r right.
The black ones, mines black, are thin.
My sway bar rubber the one on the passenger side so I took off my sway bar.

 

So.... here is a 4600 (same 46mm monotone as a 5100 just not adjustable). For the pic it appears the silver machined top hat does not sit as low as the black one.

 

Yes That's what I noticed as well In fact, when I explained all of this to the suspension guy, he said he suspected I received the wrong shocks. But the part number is correct. But yes, my shock seems different. Tapered in comparison to rooster's.

 

This is the setup i am wanting to do to my 19 DCLB OR 4X4. I am going to stick with 265/75s and possibly SCS Sr8s or something with a little negative offset. With the 885s am I going to be perfectly level or will I need to run an add a leaf in the rear? Also, as measured stock. My front driver side is about a half inch lower (taco lean). What size spacer do I need?
