Love this thread! I've been researching a ton of stuff on here and hoping someone would mind helping me out to know what to do on my suspension. I don't want to hijack this thread, but see the link below to a thread I started to try and get some info on my situation! Thanks in advance! Hope to get some good advice on what to get.

Ok y’all so i’m needing your help.

I will be in need of tires soon. I currently have 265/70/17 Ko2’s and seeing i’m lifted now with the 5100’s and 885’s with an AAL in the rear i wanted to get bigger tires.

Will i be fine with 285/70’s? or will i have a lot of rubbing. i’ve been reading so much i’m getting a headache and want to know what the deal would be if i got 285’s. I’m thinking about getting C rated ko2’s but my other possible options are toyo open country AT3 or the Falken Wildpeak’s. but i’m not really sure what i want yet. Out of the 3 i really like how aggressive the side wall to the ko2’s are. and i have about 49k miles on the current pair i have which is pretty good!

    Hi Brandon,
You could put 285's on your rig although.
You would need to trim some of the plastic away from your front lower fenders and I recommend a BMC " Body Mount Chop" so you do not rub your tires on the BM's.
I have 285 70 17's and did these things and it rides great with no rubbing when flexed.

Yea that’s where i’m finding some info and some gray area. Some say you have to do a cab mount chop others say you can get away without and have had no issues.
Can you post some more pics of the truck if you don’t mind?

Brandon, I guess it would depend on if you go off road or not. It you go off road and flex your truck and do not want the rubbing and or cutting your tires I recommend it. You will see the pinch welds that need to be flattened as well. If you stay on the street then maybe you can get away with it. It looks like you do go off road and once you get those bigger more expensive tires you will want to.. :)

Are you running stock or aftermarket UCAs on your rig? About to purchase the same setup, but don't want to purchase UCAs if I don't have to.

@FJ to Taco for the OME Dakar Leaf Pack, did you go with Medium or Heavy duty? I'm considering getting a Leer Camper Shell for my DCLB 2012 and currently have a 2" AAL in the rear. There is a definite rake to the truck, and I'm curious if the AAL will be sufficient to support the shell/ how much sag there will be. Thanks!

    Hi Hanahou,
I had AAL's and my shell, it sagged especially if you put gear in the bed. My OME leaf packs are medium duty. The part number in my signature has changed but yes they are OME medium duty leaf springs.

I am so so glad I did this and you will to be i'm sure. they are worth every penny! I also tow a trailer and it is awesome with the OME leaf packs.trailer.jpg

Hey folks not sure how many 3rd gen people are in here but I’m just waiting on my 5100 coils and 885’s to get assembled from my busy buddy Lol, was wondering if anybody running the Dakar med duty are experiencing any drive line vibes, I got a 3 degree rear shim kit as well as carrier bearing drop kit. I have watched so many videos with all the time I have on my hands and some guys aren’t doing anything, some are using the shim kit and or carrier bearing drop kit. Would love some input from you guys, would like to wrap it up in one day and be done. Thank you for you input!

How many miles did people have before they went with this lift and how long after did the ECGS bushing need to be done?

Just got the OK from the wife to do this lift with dakars in the rear but I don't want to have to tack more on to the total cost I am already fudging... a wee little.
