aside from them being better shocks (and giving a nicer ride) do they increase the lift at all? or does the lift only come from the fronts?

No..The 5100s do not provide any lift in the rear.

So then why do some guys here put 5100s in the rear? If they provide a lift in the front, why wouldn't it work in the rear. Curious here as well because I would like to remove the spacer kit in the front and also install 5100s (as that seems to be the way to go).

If the 5100s are adjusted in the front to its max, would I experience the same "effect" as the spacer? Meaning, am I extending the (I think) suspension out more so I'm getting less of a rebound? Does this make sense?

The FRONT 5100 have a collar that makes the adjustable. And where there collar sits determines how much preload the front springs are under and then determines the overall lift effect. The leaf springs in the rear are completely independent of the shocks.

The 5100s are designed to be preloaded so the stroke is a lit longer as I understand it to accommodate that loading.

If you haven't had the rear TSB done, what should you have the fronts set at?

Set them @ 2.5 & get the 1.5 Toytec AAL & it'll sit about an inch higher in back. If no AAL then I'd say factory or .85 setting.
