Hello everyone. I am currently looking to get my 2017 tacoma leveled and based on the research I have done, Bilstein seems to be the way to go. I’m wondering what kind of wheel setup I can run with leveling my truck using the 5100’s. If you guys are running these struts please post pics. TIA977D5C4B-FFC1-4EE0-9558-EB027FC00ACC.jpg

I have 5100s up front on the 3rd notch. 1.5” toytec block on the rear.

265/75r16 or 265/70r17 is the perfect size for this setup.

Mine currently has stock 265/70r16 but have 285s on the way :)

Was your truck squatting from the rear without the block?

Is it hard to remove the springs and reinstall? How do they feel compared to the oem off road?

It squat a little from the canopy, which brought it down maybe .5”-.75”, so goin with the 1.5” F&R, it sits slightly raked still which is perfect IMHO.

Your truck on the 3rd notch should sit pretty level without adding anything to the rear.

Not hard, just need to compress the spring.

A lot of people say the 5100s ride “stiff” but I think they are very similar to OEM shocks. At most, SLIGHTLY stiffer then factory.

I like the ride, and I’ve ran them in multiple Toyota trucks. I can’t speak anything for the Icon, Fox, etc brands just because I’ve put money into other aspects of the truck and never been able to afford 3-4g in lift kits. Priorities I guess

And for the record, I’ve ran the 5100 at the 3rd notch on this truck and my 13 taco and I’ve done some pretty decent offroadin/trails and higher speed sand stuff and never have had an issue with these shocks. Just my .02

OK folks. SO if I went with this option up front (third notch to level) would I need to get an alignment? Last truck was an 02 Ranger that all I had to do was crank torsion bars to level it. Yes I did have to get an alignment on it. thanks

Awesome thanks for the input. Mind posting pics of your truck once you throw on the 285’s?

That’s a good question. I’m curious as well. I had a Subaru Sti before my Tacoma and added coilovers to lower it. The coilovers added some negative camber as I lowered it so an alignment was needed. I’m not sure if it’ll be the same situation raising the truck though.

Yes you will need an alignment.

And yes I will post the pics with the 285s and Ray10s :) :)
