Hi guys...so sorry to abuse you with another question about this. I have spent hours reading through what is on here and have not been able to find what I am looking for. I have a 2010, dbl cab, 4x4 with about 88k on it. I just had 265/75/16 Coopers put on after 85k miles on my duratracs! I do NOT want a 3" lift but am wondering what you all recommend for the best all around ride quality and maybe gaining 1" - 1.5" of lift in the front? I had the rear leaf recall done a few years back with the 4 leafs and the nose sits a bit lower than the rear. I drive a lot for work. Should I stick with stock springs? At 88k are the stock ones worn out? Anyone recommend getting the Sport or TRD springs over SR5 springs?

Appreciate any thoughts you have on it...

I have the sport Springs with 5100s set at .85" and the ride is crappy. I'm pretty sure off road and sr5 Springs are the same. Maybe those ride a little better

I had the Bilstein 5100s set at 1.75 on my factory Off Road springs with an AAL in the back and thought it was a great ride. I certainly suffered a bit on the trails losing some travel in the front, but the truck is still very capable. I've since replaced my Off Road springs with the Toytec (made by Eibach) springs which add 1.6" of lift and have my 5100s set at .85". It's an excellent ride. If you're planning on getting the 5100s and want new springs, just get the Toytec springs. They're very affordable and much more so than going for OEM springs from a dealer. This way you are preloading your springs as minimally as possible and getting a great ride.

And if the 2.4-ish inches of lift is too much, just set the bilsteins at 0 and enjoy the new springs and shocks fully.

The front end will always sit slightly lower than the rear unless you level it out, trucks are designed with a bit of 'rake' in the back because they are meant to settle a bit when loaded with weight.

I got 1.5" of lift in the front by putting in 5100s set to 0" with OME 881 springs. An AAL in the rear should give you an inch or 1.5 in the back.

Old man emu 884 Springs should give 1.5-2" of lift and ride smoother than toytec/eibach because they are i think 590lb vs 620lb

If your wanting 1"-1.5" I'd do ome 883s and 5100s set at 0.

Sport springs at 1.75" arent bad. Thats where I have mine set. Offroad springs will ride a bit more stiff than sport springs when use on the 5100s for lift.

If you want to keep a smooth ride, I see a few options. You can pick up some lightly used stock suspension from someone on here who just upgraded and stay almost the same height, or just get the 5100s and OME 883 coils. That will give you just that little bit of lift in the front.

Everybody's definition of a good ride will be different. I have the stock Offroad springs with 5100's @ 1.75, and like the ride. It has mellowed since I first put them on (I put new springs with new shocks, so they were a little stiff at first). Really the only thing I don't like about the ride (because of the extra preload), is if I take a turn and hit a pothole with the unloaded side, the rebound is a little rough. If (when) I were to do it again, I would go with a taller spring.

I would never preload my stock Springs again. New could are well worth the investment imo

Thank you for your input! Thinking I will check out the new, slightly taller spring option to keep the 5100 at 0. 5100's arrive tomorrow!

FYI Sport and SR5 springs are the same and are linear wound, TRD OR are progressive.

I love the ride of my TRD OR springs at 1.75, a little firmer than stock but its much welcomed, I took the swaybar off and never looked back. Paired with SPC light racing UCA's i dont have any UCA hitting coil any more or upper ball joint bind so my suspension moves freely and does not top out hard like it did before.

885's will raise your front end 2.25 to 2.5 inches. 884's might be closer to level if you aren't raising the rear end.

You are compressing the spring against the top hat more. Essentially making it shorter thus stiffer.

You have to look at how much the coil is compressed when the shock is fully extended, this is preload. At higher lift settings, there is more preload which will stiffen the ride.
