    Hi all,

Apologies for yet another post on lift/suspension but I’m a big newbie to the truck world and could really need some advise from the experts here on this forum (have been avidly reading posts for a while now).

I have a 2020 Tacoma Off Road DCSB with 265/70r17 KO2s on the SEMA wheels. Also, have a Yakima rack/RTT setup in the back. Objective is to upgrade the truck to be more off road worthy (overlanding/exploring) while still being a good daily driver / have a smooth ride :)

I am fine maintaining factory rake and want to lift as little as possible (ideally 1-1.5”) but what I have planned now is going to give me at least 2” and might make the ride a bit harsh ... especially with the tent not on.

Here is what I had planned so far:
    - BA 4x4 front bumper with winch + light bar (~140lbs)
    - Bilstein 6112 in the front with the heavy duty coils to account for the added weight
    - Bilstein 5160 in the back
    - OME EL111R medium duty leaf springs in the back (looks like that gives about 2” in the back)

What do y’all think about this setup? Does this combination make sense? Is there an alternative to the OME EL111R that would give me a little less lift?

    thank you in advance!

    Tom

the EL111 is great for height and holding some weight, i carry about 500-700lbs of gear when on big trips and they seem to sag just a little but hold up well with my rack and RTT on all the time, i may get the heavier additional leaf just to help but i have no complaints overall besides them sqeaking a little when they were brand new

Got it - thank you for your impressions! How’s the ride without load in the back? What shocks are you running?

Man, old thread, but I'm thinking about the same suspension on my 21. What did you end up doing with the springs? How did you set it up?
