I know this is a old post but did you keep the overload leaf on the pack or remove it when you installed the AAL

Does it make most sense to offset circlip settings to account for Taco lean or just go with the spacer on driver side?

Seems like have both shocks at same setting is ideal.

It's quite typical to address taco lean via adjusting the circlips, but if you wanted a small top plate spacer instead we certainly could always knock that out. I've done it both ways, and not noticed a marked difference one way or another.

Hey everyone. New to the forum and new to suspensions and lifts. I'm planning on getting the 6112/5160 set up with the icon rxt leafs. I'm keeping my 265/70/16 tires on 3rd gen takeoffs. My question is, what clip setting should I use to gain around 1.5" of lift on my 2012 tacoma? Thanks for any responses and info.

I just swapped over to 6112/5160 from Eibach Pro trucks.

    So much better.

I went with the 650lb spring, and a lower clip setting. It rides stiffer but very firm/planted. W.o the sway bar, it feels great. This feels like the Eibachs w sway bar installed, minus the noises and topping out.

I'd strongly recommend anyone on the fence to get these.

Good to hear. I am thinking the same thing with a lower clip setting. I have no experience personally with this set up but what I've read is that the lower setting will give a smoother ride.

One more question for anyone who is knowledge or has the icon rxt leaf pack. If I go with the 6112s set at 9/7 to get 1.7" lift should I use option 1 or 2 for the icon rxt's?

I installed the pack as it came, and am sitting at about 24" in the rear. Access cab tho.

Do you know what it comes as? Option 1,2, or 3? I have an access cab as well with a softopper on. No extra constant weight.

All Icon RXT leaf packs are shipped at Option 1. They are end-user configurable to Options 2 or 3. 1.7" of lift up front, and you'll probably get about that much in the rear if you go with RXT Option 1. I would recommend to install it as shipped, and set the AAL/hardware off to the side for if you decide to change things up or add more weight down the road.

Also, if you don't have your 6112/5160/RXTs all ordered up yet, we'd love to help over here at Hotshot Offroad. Shoot me a message or give me a buzz! 406-936-0206 :)

I have a 3rd gen access cab and swapped out my OEM + aal leaf pack with a stage 1 icon. So much better feeling. gave me some rake, but I like it! Also, still have my Bilstein 5160/6112s. Here’s a pic for reference its with my old packs/tires in the bed but you get the idea.upload_2024-6-24_22-41-44.png

I have the blue set of bilsteins so I’m on the max for access cabs (4th/5th setting)

I just installed this setup…plan was to go to 285s and lift about 1.5”, but since mine is a M/T and I use it like a truck, opted to keep the 265 tires and keep it low, so I put the clips in the 3/5 position.

122K miles on the original yellow shocks and they were making noise…looks like the lower bushings were thrashed in the front ones, so at least the noise is gone. Haven’t really driven much yet, feels about the same (but quiet, which is nice).

6112/5160 setup with Icon add a leafs. BFG KO3 tires in 285/70/17. So far so good! I originally wanted the Fox Performance 2.5 setup but just couldn’t justify the price.

I kept the stock UCAs so I didn't have to do any trimming. Every once in a while, I do get a very slight rub on the driver's side. But it's nothing that's too bad where I feel like I need to cut it.
