Did you have to add the relocate kit?

I can go at a good clip. Where I notice the 6112s really shine is on rough/washboard dirt roads. The truck does not chatter or move around at all.

I have my 6112s set on the 4th notch but I'm in a 3rd gen and they require more pre load to get lift. I've always heard the 3rd notch is ideal for 2nd gens. Surprised to see your getting 3.5" What's the part number on those 6112s. Are you sure you got the right one for the 2nd gens and not the one designed for 3rd gens. They supposedly are different.

I think it's too high of a height. Maybe take them down to 3" and try that setting in the same speed bump which is causing the harshness? Just because the 6112 has all those snap ring slots doesn't mean they are intended to be used. The 6112 is a bit of a universal design...they just tuned the valving for the Tacoma.

mbrogz3000- thank you for the reply
I will probably need to lower to maybe even the 2nd notch because I'm just getting substantial more lift than what is published. Financially it's about $450 to take it down a notch or two, $150.00 each shock to remove and re-seat the clip and then $120 for an alignment. Not to mention if I go straight to 2 notches I'm always going to wonder if the 3rd notch would work.

I guess if I can get feedback comparing the following I could make a decision:

    On a scale of 1 to 10

5100 with OME coils with perch set at the 2nd notch versus 6112 with OEM coils with perch set at the 4th notch

If you can tear the assemblies out yourself and find a shop with a wall mounted spring compressor it will significantly cut down on the cost. I did this (everything stayed together and they compressed the spring enough for me to move the clip down) and the shop only charged me for the labour (which was .3/hr) and then I came back for a new wheel alignment once I put everything back in.

Sna- thank you for your reply and I'm glad that my 1/4" spacer is like yours,
Can check that off the list.

Are you 4x4? I don't see any front driveshafts in those pictures? If not, then that's probably your height issue.

I changed my air pressure, the shop that installed the tires and rims inflated them to 45 psi, I decreased them to 39 all four to start with. Truck seemed to drive better in the highway.

Leaving work there are about 7 speed bumps, the first few i went over at about 10 mph and passenger side topped out. On the last couple I went about 15 mph and it actually was better. Tomorrow morning I will try going faster and see if that's how I need to go over speed bumps either very fast or very slow.

    39 still seems high...(stock tires?)

That will be your problem then....notch 2 or 3 would be better, but given the height you're at on the 4th notch, I would go to notch 2.

    I'm running 265/70/17 BFG KO2

I appreciate the feedback and going to the 2 notch does seem resonable. What do you think the lift will be, 2"
