Good idea..... Expect for them to call u back.

It's new and not in their updated catalog so they had to have a tech or some shit measure and get back to me.

Ok, if you two are done bickering...

Has anyone given any feedback on the ride quality of these vs the 5100s? I've been running the 5100s and am at a point that I'd be interested in trying something new, but haven't been able to determine what I'd be gaining for the extra $$$. I understand piston diameter and oil cooling theories, but haven't read anything regarding these compared to anything else in real world testing.

So I also got the same info from Bilstein, however my shock seems to be slightly longer than what Bilstein claims. But unless I took it off the truck and compared side by side with the 5100 I can't be sure. Wish the OP had taken more detailed pics of them side by side.

As to ride quality, these feel better than 5100's to me and my friend who has a Tacoma on 5100 shocks lifted the same amount as me.

JBecker, can you elaborate on ride quality differences for us? I'm personally between the 5100 and 6112 and haven't seen enough info yet to make a good decision. I've heard that the valving between the two is the same (not confirmed by Bilstein) and I'm not sure what spring rate they are using, either. I'm very curious what differences I could expect on and off road. I've been running 5100s now for a long while and either buying another set or upgrading.

Is that to say that they are precisely the same feel on and off road until you would otherwise hit the bump stop?

Just letting you guys know, if you purchase anything through a 4wheelparts, whether it's through me or a local store or online order, we have this thing called Xtreme Warranty, covers the item for 3-5 years no questions asked warranty. Bend it, break it, snap it, i don't care, the warranty covers it. Bring it back to the store, pay the warranty again, and you get a new set.

Yes, it's no questions asked, you can literally go out in the parking lot and run it over, you will buy the warranty to cover it again. and you get a new strut/shock.

I just placed my order for 6112s, looking forward to getting them on.

FWIW, CarID had a great price and offers a 10% military discount, so their total shipped price was extremely good on this set of 6112s. I'll report back as I receive them and make sure everything processed as expected.

For those of you running 285s with this set of COs, are you using a top plate spacer to achieve enough lift or will the 2.5" setting achieve it with stock bumper? I'm going to be removing my current setup and I'll take pre-measurements to verify where I'm at currently. Hopefully I can obtain similar lift with this setup so I don't have to trim much more than I have, currently.

I received my 6112 kit today. Beefy shocks, can't wait to get them on to see how they ride. Wish there was a bit more info out there on what lift height to expect on the 4th or 5th setting with a DCSB. I'm wondering if I can get by with the 4th setting and 1/4" top plate on the passenger side, and 3/8" top plate on the driver's side... and still fit my 285s. Might try it, but it just might cost me two builds to know for sure!

For anyone who is curious, I just measured these springs out at 610lbs/in spring rate. I don't think that info has been published anywhere, so figured it may be useful to someone trying to make a decision.

I'm running the 6112's on the 2nd from the bottom clip +1/4" spacer on the drivers side, 5160's on the back. Rear leaf pack is OEM 3+overload. Just as an example for anyone interested.

Awesome! Did you measure how much lift you obtained with that setup?

    Looks great!

I didn't, but from the looks it's definitely level now. The ride is noticeably smoother as well, with less nose dive when braking hard.

I'm glad that you edited this post before I got around to replying ;)

You guys are doing great, tho I must say that you haven't provided me with any info that CarID and an internet search hasnt. I've already seen the lift chart and found a few guys who have actually installed these to get some feedback on actual lift. At any rate, I plan to do mine next week and I'll give the measurements when I'm done... And won't charge a consultation fee to anyone who is interested in the data.

The spring rate is exactly 610. Don't think that info has been published yet so I ran a quick measurment to find out. Again, no consult fee, just enthusiast helping other enthusiasts.
