    Hi,

First post here. I have searched extensively but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Please direct me to an appropriate resource if one exists.

I just picked up a 2022 Tacoma TRD Sport, DCLB. I want to get slightly bigger tires and go with an all terrain tire. I'll probably just go with 265/70 because I know those will fit without any drama.

I'd also like to upgrade to Bilstein 6112 suspension. Can I install these front and rear without messing up the alignment? I don't want to add UCA or change the rear leaf springs at all. I believe the stock truck is 1.5" higher in the front so can I just add these shocks and keep the rear height the same and maybe lift the front by 1"? Would this keep a nice alignment and everything?

    Thanks

Anytime you raise or lower the front an alignment will be needed.

No alignment for the rear, also, no 6112s in the rear. For that you are looking at 5100, 5125, or 5160.

Sorry, I worded my original post poorly. I know that I'll need an alignment after changing it. I meant can I still get the truck into a proper alignment with this setup?

Yes. UCAs are really only needed if you go more than ~2.5" lift

You need to replace the leaf springs or install an add a leaf (AAL) to gain rear height. Can also do spacers, but I highly recommend against spacer lifts.

I don't want to gain rear height though. I just want to bring the front up a tiny bit. I'm mostly adding the shocks for improved performance. I think the 265/70 tire will fit without any issues regardless.

I'm running 6112's up front with 5160's in the rear with an add a leaf. Stock UCA's and stock tires now which I believe are 265's. I plan to go to 275 A/T's soon. Got an alignment done and did not have to mess with brake lines. I also did a sway bar drop. I think that is the best IMO (based on TW research), anything higher you begin to rework the entire suspension and driveline components trying to achieve proper alignment and chasing vibrations.

Have you found any 6112’s? 4WParts says manufacturer is out until August.

I just got mine off of bilsteinlifts a few weeks ago.

Tires will fit fine. And I really enjoy the performance. It's a great shock for highway and light to moderate trails.

This is 265/70/17 tires with the front on the 4th/3rd perch, rear lifted 1.75 with icon AAL.

I don’t believe you. That looks like about 1” front and rear. Clearance from wall and garage door that is.

nice! Went a different way with my lift - but these seem like a crowd favorite.

You made me go back and consider that one. No tennis ball, not utilizing the back up camera, I'm guessing they stop when the cabinets jiggle.

And I thought my garage clearance was tight.

6112’s at 1.75” front with 265/70/17 KO2’s in C load. Ride is excellent on and off road. I’m on stock UCA’s and it aligned with flying colors.

Looks good! You only upgraded the front and left the back stock correct?

I succumbed to the laser pointer. Bought one of those dual units. My nose ‘pokes’ into my racks a little. I could use my front camera, it honestly, the little laser dot in my dash is pretty darn convenient. That leaves me about 2’ at the rear to walk around without getting my clothes all dirty.

1.5 rear blocks on stock shocks. I’ll eventually install a nice AAL but for now the priority is to change out the rear Hitachis for some 5160’s. I got the 6112’s with low miles in exchange for my stock struts + 2” lift spacer.
