Bilstein 6112 set at 5th clip?

Anyone running 6112 on 285/70/17?
I’m on top clip and it’s rough. Really rough. Also seeing aggressive angle on UCA. Thinking of dropping 1 inch (which clip?). Hopefully don’t run into rubbing.

 

This will put you at 3”

 

Have mine on the 4th and they ride very well.

 

I am on the top clip as well and there is way too much preload, simply going over a speed bump the front wheels want to snap back to the ground aggressively. Trying to decide on dropping 1 or 2 notches. Currently have approximately 1 inch rake (HD Dakars in rear with 5160).

Do you have both front springs on the same notch (top), and using a driver's side spacer for taco lean?

I’ve got mine on the top clip with a 1” block on the rear from my last crap lift. 5160s on rear. Gonna install MD Dakar’s here shortly. Hopefully that helps my situation.

 

Go with HD Dakar’s . You can always remove one leaf if you don’t like the height . It’s better than having to add a leaf like I did !

Crap. MDs are already here. I knew I should have just went with HD. How much weight do you usually have in the bed?
Any of you guys running shims to align the drive shaft in the rear? CB drop kit?

 

CB drop shim . No shims under leafs . I have maybe 100 pounds in the bed at all times but I have a camper Ipull a few times a year . Also use the bed for getting firewood. I have a slight vibration if I take off too quickly other than that I’m good .

Old 6112 page, but looking for answers or some advice. If the 6" bracket kits use a 4" spacer up front for the lift, then what would or could be wrong with dropping the driver ring to 3rd from bottom, and passenger to 2nd from bottom, and adding a 2" spacer up top?? Would this be a way to get a lil more height, without too many drawbacks?? Can't stop thinking about it?? I'm on highest setting now for some time and no complaints, just trying to get a lil higher. Or just break down, sale, and upgrade to Vertex 3.5 c/o's??? Thanks for any responses..

 

Looks like you are running sliders and warfab steel skids. Did you use the 650 lb springs on the 6112s? What are your hub to fender measurements now with the front bumper? I just installed min on 5/4 with the 600 lb springs. BAMF sliders and skid trilogy and I am sitting at 21" hub to fender for essentially no lift. I don't know if it is the 380 lbs of steel between the sliders and skids, or if it is a long bed thing. I am thinking I will swap to the 650 lb springs and set the clips to 6/5 and see what that does. I am just so surprised that I got basically no lift on 5/4 as I was expecting 1.5"

 

This is me now. 6112 top notch… might want to lower it. 5160 rears with HD Dakar. Still squatting also, drive shaft vibes even with the spacers dropping the CB.
