I have 5100s and have ridden shotgun in a truck with Kings, both driven over the same trail, and let me tell you...there is such a big difference that the word "obvious" doesn't do it justice.

I will agree though that these new Billies are probably going to be overpriced compared to their competition

I think you may be the first to say that.

And yes, there is a substantial difference. This may be the reason Bilstein is continuing to develop shocks to compete with Icon/ King.

I only say it because I've seen two types of people on this site; a limited number of people posting measurements, design flaws or lack there of, or just general knowledgeable insight into specific threads and topics, and then those who ask "what or which is better" and someone says "this one is" with no supporting evidence or justification. When a question is asked about the product, there's just crickets.

I know there's a difference in ride quality, especially when comparing to the 5100 setup. Then there's valving, collapsed/ext travel length, spring rate, etc. That's not what I'm saying. Simply saying I don't think these will perform any better than a king/icon setup for a majority of the street driven mall crawlers and there's a large majority of people who probably have no clue about what I just said, but will put them on because they are "better"

O' well..Already installed the 6112s.. I'm sure when it's time for a shock change for me, there will be something better on the market.

For everyone questioning that quote.. It was actually a pretty popular internet quote several years ago. Also, Maker's Mark is good, but I was able to find some Buffalo Trace and Gosh damn man.. that's some golden stuff right thar.
