Deaver Expedition, Alcan custom made, or Icon RXT (Icon is the best bang for the buck as it comes with an extra leaf so you get a light, Medium or heavy spring pack depending how you assemble them) .

You're going to look at your stock suspension and even the Pro suspension,
with utter disgust even before you've broken in your 8100's .
Also say bye-bye to harsh bottoming out.
Even just the 8100's on factory leafs is a night and day difference.

The higher number of thinner leafs in the aftermarket springs gives you a more progressive spring rate.
Plus they don't tend to sag as the factory ones tend to do after a number of years.

I would also highly recommend Hammer Hangers or BAMF’ s hanger. Huge difference

Using the Hammer Hangers with stock leafs would make a big difference ? I don't think the stock hangars are that bad, or are they ?

How do the hangers affect the ride? Only thing I can think of is they are stiffer?

I was thinking the same thing unless you're swapping out the oem leafs with aftermarket

Stock hangers restrict shackle which restricts articulation. Stock hangers are flimsy and cause the rear jitters.

Doesn’t the bumpstop restrict articulation? (Of course this is considering stock setup)

Bumpstops stop shocks from bottoming out and destroying them. The restriction I am referring to has to do with the hanger having free range of motion working in unison with leaf pack

Yeah but if you’re articulating a solid axle, the drooping side is restricted by the up travel of the other side I think?

Oh wow this is good to know!! I’m planning on adding about 95lbs to the front of my truck plus sliders and full skids. I’m trying to find out if I need to upgrade to the 650 Bills for the 6112’s. From what you wrote I’m right on the edge of needing the 650’s. I’ll probably try it as it is now and if I feel too much nose dive or sagging I’ll switch the springs.
So let’s say I put the front bumper on. My snap ring is set at 4and5. I also like the ride height I’m at. Can I just swap to the heavier spring without adjusting the snap ring and still achieve the same ride height?

No snap rings on the 8112's ,
the bottom is threaded, and the whole bottom perch moves up,
you can even adjust height without taking the spring off the truck,
Just clean and oil the threads.
(you just have to jack the truck up so the trucks weight is not on the springs.)

So I would not be worried about height between the spring rates if you swap later on. You can adjust down to 1/16".

Bilstein did their spring recommendations for people that are going balls out Baja driving.
So you'll probably be just fine with the 600#'s ,
Might just mean that your swaybar is mandatory and not optional.

Good info thank you for taking the time to set all this up for me! I did not realize this was about the 8112's. I have 6112's on my truck. Someday in the future I will get the 8112 but for now the money is going into armor for the truck. I feel like 600 would still work with a 90lb bumper. I'll just have to wait and see. Take care and enjoy the weekend.

Hello folks. Wanted to share my input on these. I just did the 700lb max lift kit for my fronts which includes a ring spacer for strut tower and a washer for the front bumpstops. I've added +150lb to the front but also plan on adding a 3rd battery so figured it would be wise to do this. I definitely noticed the front is stiffer and more violent on bumps now but as a whole the truck still rides nice. My issue right now is more so lack of power/gears which will be my next thing to address on the truck.

Lift kit is part number 53-291394 and was $208 shipped.

Also... my one HUGE gripe. I'm in PA and after two fairly mild winters all of the zinc coated metal looks HORRIBLE. The amount of corrosion I'm already experiencing is really not acceptable. I wash my truck constantly in the winter not allowing things to get caked up/build up but like I said the winters were super mild with barely any snow driving. All I can say is that they better hold up long term--just on this fact alone I wish I got Dobinsons instead or Kings.

I was the same way I was going to go with the 6112 series and placed the order for them but did a little digging and realized they had some even better ones the almighty 8112's so I thankfully got in contact with our rep before the order was processed and got it changed but ya know if I didn't have the luxury of getting them the way I do I would definitely be running the 6112's Cheers and have a great weekend !

Little bit of trivia for you...

the 6112 and 8112 have the same coil springs.

So yeah you will be fine. Just try and limit the amount of Jumping. ;)

Would probably have a smoother ride on small and medium type "suspension events", same as the 8112's

Where the 8112's would have the advantage with the same weight/rate over the 6112's is in the medium to full travel "events" .

They have the Jounce and 3rd stage "bump stop" stages.

What are you running in the rear for a rear lift ? I know your gripe I was told to go with clear high heat resistant paint/enamel to keep them clean. How does the front end ride with the 700's I know you have quite a bit of weight added to the front which I plan on doing too. Eventually but as of right now I just have the body armor covert bumper with light bar and ditch light which is a very small amount of weight. I know eventually I'll be upgrading to a high clearance front bumper with roof rack and all the goodies but I feel like for now the 600 should do me good till the time comes then I can get them pulled out and switched over to 700's. But this leads me to another good question would these be better for a baja style build or overland cause quite a bit of comments lead me to baja but I mean these shocks are in their own category. I love love love the look of the shocks and the reviews so far. I can't back out now I've already bought em I just want to know as much info as possible as there's not all that much info on these outside of TW

You'll def want 650# if not 700# springs. 600 would still "work" but will have a fair amount of body roll. Keep the swaybar on, it'll save your life.
