I have a 2001 4x4 5-speed. I am set on getting 5100s all around and setting the fronts at 2.5. For the rear, I want to install the 5100s paired with the Wheeler's 3 pack progressive AAL.

Does anyone run this setup and how do you like it?

Also, I am planning on getting 15x8 Pro Comp Rock Crawler Series Wheels as well as 33x12.5x15 BFGoodrich KO2 tires.

P.S. I have done a TON of searching and I have found a lot of useful information, but I just want to be 100% sure with my specific setup before I spend $$. Thanks.

Pretty much set on doing the same thing as you. Except I want to stay stock in the rear. Gonna go with the middle setting on the 5100's in the front and just put the rear 5100's back there without an aal

I put on a headstrong 3 leaf AAL in the back and like it a lot so far. kinda stiff but should settle down a bit. I still have to put on my front billies. Plan on setting them at 2.5 as well. Some pics below (yes I know my rear 5100's are technically upside down).

Check my build, I've got 5100s up front at the highest setting (stock springs) and an AAL in the rear with 5100s also. Love everything about it

Edit: you will likely need UCAs to get aligned correctly. Believe me I tried everything to avoid that since they cost more than my entire lift (I bought everything used through Tacoma world peeps) but a las I had to bite the bullet (though I did also get those used too so I did save a little bit there...)

I did the 5100s all around with Eibach springs on the front. AALs have been nothing but problems. They are installed right but now the rear end creaks and they constantly twist out. torques are right, wear pads are not cracked. Im ordering OME Dakars for the rear and calling it a day. Yes the UCAs are a must. I hear guys up north having issues with salt and the exposed uniballs. But the truck has tighten up alot with the 5100s.

I do have that set up. I like it. Have it on my 03 DC and had it on my 99 XC. I kept the overloads in so I have a slight rake.

Have had 0 issues. Make sure to retighten the Ubolts after the first 1k miles and you're golden. It's gunna ride stiffer but you'll get used to it. The rear will settle eventually, but not much. If you want that leveled look, remove the overloads. Or just regularly haul stuff in the bed and/ or a trailer and the AALs will settle much quicker and the rake will be less noticeable. Also I didn't need UCAs. Hope this helped.

Did you have any alignment issues and what tire size are you running? Im planning on doing 33x12.5x15 with some trimming.

You have the front set at 2.5 right? I hear most people only do 1.75

Yeah, it's as high as the 5100s would allow

I have AAL's in the rear w/ 5100's and have had 0 issues for 3 years now. I installed them when I bought my 1st lift, 3" ToyTec spacer lift, then they stayed on for my 2nd lift Adjustable 5100's w/ 3" Eibachs and finally my 3rd lift up front, Icon Ext. travel coil overs. I never messed with the rear of the truck through all 3 lifts. I also have Camburg UCA's. My Bilsteins are installed the same way as @SOMDTACO and my AAL is right above the overload spring in the photo.

How come you installed them this way! I'm putting mine in right now and I'm having a big head ache which way to put them in.
