    not by much.

check what’s out there and compare. Can be 6112/5160. Doesn’t have to be. OME supposedly came out with something nice.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I have Billstiens 5100 x4 on my Sport and it rides like a truck. The do well on and off road. OME has the contract with Toyota for the 24 Tacoma's and has something new at the TRD levels.

2016 Offroad stock shocks next to 2023 5100s. Modest upgrade shockwise if they were the same age. Main benefits of 5100 fronts are extended length and ride height preload adjustability.
If I went back in time, I'd have spent the extra $ and bought also extended, 6112s for the front with the stronger springs to hold up my skid and slider weight rather than using just max preload as I have to with the 5100s.
In the rear, I already replaced the 5100s with longer Fox 2.0, which also ride smoother, but also about $250 each rather than $100 each.

So I guess should I replace the front springs also to the Bilstein B12 set if I plan on doing an aftermarket bumper?

Depending on how heavy a bumper, you may want to look at springs as well. I went heavy front and rear b/c I planned on a beefy winch bumper and an RTT.

I did exactly this 2 days ago to my TRD OR. I love the look with 175/70/17 KO2s, but it definitely drives like a different truck with much more truck like mannerisms.

I'm getting used to the ride and so far I love it (I think)

    Went with this kit
    Bilstein B8 5100 2 inch Tacoma (05-15) Lift Kit w/ OME Springs

Thanks or all the replies. I ordered the shocks and springs. What height settings did you guys do on the shocks. I want to keep the stock TRD Off Road height, or go a little higher. The springs say 2" lift, but is that for the base Tacoma or 2" over the TRD Off Road OEM height?

Billstien 5100 x4, extended length in the rear. Fronts set on first notch. Heavy duty coils and springs, about 3" lift when it all settled. Kinda kept the factory rake.

Yikes, all the OME springs are 2" lift springs I believe, even for 2nd gen. If so, you won't be able to lower it much if any, if you were looking for just a little over stock height.

You may like it however. Simplest and cheapest way to avoid being nose high with a 2" lift front, is to throw a Toyota half inch or anyone's inch blocks under the leafs. I believe 2nd generation rear rake is about 1.5 inches.

For my 4runner I got the 6112s on the front and 5100 in the back with the B12 rear springs. They seem pretty good so far.

If you are referring to the Bilstein B12 special front coil springs for additional weight, as opposed to the standard front coils that come with the 6112 package from Bilstein, yes I would for sure with an aftermarket bumper weight added.

Because a lot of Bilstein products use the same letters and numbers in their product names, the year, model, front or rear position, and type of part, need to be specified for the correct match and comparison.
