I don't disagree with you entirely, but the job for all four wheels is 3-4hrs. The real problem is lack of mechanics. The government is giving out too much free money and no one wants to work. They had a desk person a shop manager, but only two mechanics. The shop manager had to get in on it and help out numerous times and I'm sure that wasn't supposed to happen. It still cost me $296 in labor which is very reasonable. Definitely beneficial to me that they agreed to install my customer supplied parts. A few weeks ago they installed my customer supplied wheels and tires too.

I have the same Truck, same rims, 265’s in the long bed. I have an empty bed with no cap or spoiler.

my 5100’s are set at 1.75 and I have 1” blocks in the back and I have just a little rake, looks pretty level though, and I have the Taco lean spacer.

This would be at minimum a full day job for me.
I’d probably do the front one day, the rear the next.
And if the alignment cam and bolts are frozen. It’s going to take longer.
Unless you don’t care about your control arm bushings or alignment.

While they should have caught their error, it happens.
I would have pulled both sides at once, and done them at the same time.
That’s way I can read the directions, and do them both, compared them.
Use a paint marker pin to label Driver and Passenger springs.

Take it back, show them what is wrong.
Ask them to make it right. And then reconsider whether you’ll use them in the future.
I probably wouldn’t, or at least not until they get more help.

Sure the total labor is only 3-4 hours, but that doesn't mean it'll magically get done in 3-4 hrs. An oil change only takes 15-20 minutes but I still ask people to leave the car with me for half a day sometimes. If you're in a hurry, go to a quickie lube

They sound backed up, stressed and understaffed. Be patient and work with them

This is removing front strut assemblies, breaking down and re assemble and install. R&R rear shocks. I don't loosen LCA's or LBJ's never had the need to.
This is reasonable front and rear lift with UCA’s.

Shop mechanics get payed by the book quoted hours, not by the actual time it takes them. They sure as hell better have it done within the book hours or they loosing money.

One question, I pretty much drove around all day and went over several speed bumps because a few people suggested that they would settle. Could this error cause damage either immediately or in the future to my brand new shocks?

I wouldn’t think so, if the spring perch is not damaged, it should be ok.
I don’t know if it’s possible, but I suppose maybe the spring could max out before you hit the bump stop? I guess it depends on the distance between the perch gaps and total length of the collapsed spring. But I doubt you did any damage.

Any damage would be internal, you wouldn’t be able to see.

Did they have free WiFi and Snacks?
That is supposed to make up for the wait time.

If a man were to wear cargo pants, he might make up the difference on the grocery bill.
A dozen packs of cracker, 6 packs of cookies, and 4 Sodas. Weeks worth of lunch right there.

I’m just kidding, I usually only take the free drinks while I wait.
Most of the time I walk the lot and admire truck I want, but will ever buy.
Like the TRD 4Runner. I like it, but I won’t pay the price.

    All of them.
It can rip the shaft out of the shock with that much preload on the spring. I've had 2 5100s come apart like that from being dumb and maxing out the preload on oME spring.

As always I appreciate all the input. I would have continued driving as is for a full week, that wouldn't have been good.

    All of them.
This is what happens with to much preload and topping them out. I've had it happen twice and I've seen atleast a dozen other 5100s do the same. 20210322_154725.jpg

Are you saying that it's going to happen in the future even if I get it fixed now?
