I recently purchased a 22 DCLB TRD OFF-ROAD and I’m looking to upgrade the suspension. I’m between the dobinsons MRR and the bilstein b8 8112/8100. I mainly ride motorcycles everywhere so this truck isn’t necessarily my daily but of course still need it to run errands. My goal is to comfortably run washboards and small whoops at speed. I live in central New Mexico so the high speed desert roads are endless. I like the full adjustability of the MRRs, but the external bypass with adjustment and bilsteins zone control tech seems kick ass as well. Any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I have the 8112/8100 combo. They're amazing, especially in the high speed desert stuff. Would recommend.

Zone control is great, they also have built in hydraulic bump stops.

    Awesome!
follow up question if anyone knows the answer - would the 8112/8100 be suitable for a medium or long travel set up down the road?

"Medium Travel" is basically just a name given to extended length stock replacement coilovers.

Long travel shocks are a totally different beast.

I really wanted the 8112's but they had a lead time of over a year when I tried to order last summer. Went with extended travel ADS 2.5's w/custom valving instead and am very happy with them now that they're tailored and configured for my truck / weight / taste.

Dobinsons makes a nice kit though, you can't go wrong with any of the higher end stuff for this truck so long as it's valved the way you like.

Update! I was able to find the 8112/8100 in stock and pulled the trigger. Got them installed and allignemt finished up on Monday. Paired them with the Dirt king UCAs. These are like a cloud off road and eat washboards and small whoops no problem! Something else cool was that the mount for the reservoirs up front double as a sway bar drop! CV angles are all perfect too!FC5C97F1-C7B2-445E-9C0B-9FB4647EEF41.jpg 221878DF-C553-4C9B-8E49-A5019EE3FD18.jpg
