Bilstein or Procomp

    Ok guys need some help. Stuck between Procomp prorunner SS 2 1/2 for front and extended shocks in rear with toyotech aal, or Bilstein 5100 adjustables on front, and toyotech aal with 5100's on rear. Any suggestions.

    I did the Bilstein 5100 up front at the highest 2” lift setting and Deaver progressive AAL in the rear with Bilstein 5100 shocks and removed the factory Overload leaf. It sits about 1/2” or so higher in the rear and rides better than stock once the shocks break in (500 miles). The stock Bilstein shocks are ridiculously stiff compared to the 5100 shocks.

    Had the same setup on my 2010 4Runner and it rode very well too. People on here that say 5100 shocks with stock springs love to say it rides terrible and they actually made me concerned before the work was done. I trusted The Truck Shop in San Diego CA for the second time and could not be happier. As most shops who actually do suspension work tell me, 5100 shocks with OME springs create a stiff shock and stiff spring rate combo that will ride terrible.

    Ok. That's the way I'm leaning so far. Besides not taking out the factory over load due to pulling a camper. Thanks for the input. Do you have any pics of your truck?

    Here you go! I went with 275/70/17 tires which haven't rubbed yet and have pretty good clearance due to the wheel offset. If you retain the factory overload, I was told it will give you an extra 1/2"

    The suspension was $1,200 installed and aligned.
    Wheels were $850 with tax from Frank Toyota in National City CA and tires $980 from Discount Tire with the swapping of the TPS from the stock wheels. So basically $3030 for everything. But is sold the TRD OR wheels for $375 and stock Goodyear tires for $400 with 2000 miles on them. Oh, and sold the stock Bilsteins for $100. So all in I'm at $2,155. Craigslist is my friend!

    Thank you! Are you thinking the single leaf or the three leaf progressive. On the progressive you gain a little lift from the thickness of the leaf pack and mild added spring tension. The single leaf is basically just stiffer in the back which I didn't want due to the concrete freeways here and the expansion joints. I feel it was worth the extra money.
