I have been reading till my eyes are bleeding about putting 5100's all around my 2006 TRD Sport.
Want to leave it stock so I guess leaving the fronts at 0.0" would be the best to keep it level.

3" lift EIBACH coils w/ 5100's front, OME/ Dakar leaf springs w/ toytec adjustable shackles at 1.5" and 5125's out back. 33x10.5x15 KM2's Relentless DIY steel bumper.
Are you wanting to just add new shocks and wondering if the 5100's are a good shock? Your not interested in lifting at all, correct?

I think more "level" would be the next setting up. .85" I think

Sorry, didn't realize I was being that vague.
Yes, the stock Bilstein HD are rusted out & shot, so will be replacing w Bilstein 5100s on front & rear.

I had planned on replacing w 4600s but seems practically everybody on here says that it is worth the extra $$ for the 5100s.
Truck is an '06 DCLB TRD Sport, and I want to keep truck level & not interested in lifts.
Not planning on doing any hard-core off roading, mostly highway, but will be traveling fire roads, power lines, farm fields, etc. while in pursuit of deer, turkey, bass, & trout.

So what should the front shocks be set at? 0.85 or 0.0?

    Thanks for responses so far

.85 will level you out. I just put mine in and put them all the way up. I sit a little nose high but not too much.

    Are you doing it yourself?

Get your truck on a flat surface, measure ground to bottom of fender on the front and back, see the difference and adjust accordingly. Also remember, you will want to get the 1/4" spacer for the driver side lean

I am planning on doing it myself. No coil overs on the front so it should be a relatively simple job if I can get the rusted nut off.

Yes, i was planning on doing a measurement prior to the install & after. What is this 1/4" spacer that you mentioned?

If he's keeping the stock springs I don't think he has to worry about the spacer

If your looking to keep the factory stance , than the 0 setting on the 5100's. If you're looking to level the truck, than it will be either .85 or 1.75. Depends how sagged the rear springs are. 1.75" on mine leveled the truck.

If you are going to do it, you might as well set them at .85.
If you just need new shocks, and don't care about the lift, you could probably get a full set of the OEM Bilsteins for next to nothing with low miles. I have a set in my garage with 1500 miles on them. I'm sure there are lots of them around.

    none yet...
in the same situation ...2006 TRD extended cab 4x4 ...65k really no signs of sloppy drive or tread cupping. I was looking at Monroe quick strut assy. 171371's for the front.. I know cheap alternative . I don't need Baja strength shocks.. I can't do this myself.. no suspension tools what so ever.. :( Blisteins really that much better ?

Those are pretty much the same price as 5100's. Why not get the better shock that has a lifetime warranty and is hands down a better shock than Monroe.

I've still got the original shocks on my '06 Tacoma 4x4, but replaced the stock shocks on my '97 GMC 4x4 with Bilsteins and loved them. Installed them myself. I put KYB's on my 2wd '68 GMC, and they were good, but not wonderful. You don't need "suspension tools", just some wrenches and a 1/2" drive socket set. I couldn't tell you if you need metric wrenches and sockets or SAE, because nothing has broken in 93k. I have both on hand, if it happens. If/when these shocks go bad, I'll put more of the same on.
