This may already be posted but I meed some help before I drop my truck off. I ordered Bilstein adjustable 5100s for my truck and using my factory springs. A friend of mine said return them and get the premade coil overs or get new springs. I do not do any offroading I have a mall crawler and not ashamed of it lol. I just want a good on road ride and the look obv. Should I opt for new springs or keep the originals? Thank you

I reused by stock springs for the last 55k with 5100s up front (Icon RXTs and 5125s out back). No sway bar. They have worked great on and off road.

    Enjoy!

I've used 2013 springs on the 5100s, you're good to go.

Just measure the ride height and set the clips accordingly.

I usually set the drivers side one clip higher than right.

I have a question at what point will I have to change my grill and sensor if I get change to 5100's/coilovers(necessary) and slightly larger tires?

I have a 2017, so not an issue. But, you don't have to change you grille. If you get codes, then you just need a recalibration. That's all.

I did a 2 inch front and rear lift on mine and the calibration on the sensor has been fine. As for the pre-made ones, I prefer them for the convenience since I don't have access to a professional, wall mounted spring compressor to swap the springs over. I bet if you weigh the cost of getting the springs and hats swapped vs the extra cost of the pre-made set up it might not be a huge difference.

Spring compressors are great, but you can do the fronts at home safely. The jack method makes it a piece of cake.

I guess I was spoiled having a shop at my disposal for many years plus I'm working outdoors in my driveway and I'm too old to mess with stuff like that. Plus if I ever want or need to return it to stock I like being able to do it easily. For me it's worth the $$$.

I hear you about access. It is a great thing to have.
