Got the TSB done on a Double Cab Long Bed 4x4 Sport, and the rake is now ridiculous. I'm going to get the 5100's, but I'm having trouble deciding how to set them.

Does anyone have any input on how to set them assuming that I often tow stuff/carry stuff in the bed? I was thinking .85 ... but then I consider the weight in the bed and how that would affect the rake and I'm just not sure.

I don't want to be riding around with a permanent wheelie going on, but I also don't want to ride around like a toy chihuahua carrying a 20lb bone anymore, either.

Why would you remove a leaf on the dakars?
Just go with a 1.5" aal.... that's the same lift as the tsb for $80

I had friends at the local Toyota dealer do mine. I asked them to set them at 2.5 and install my 1" blocks. They ended up setting them at 1.75 to keep all the drive angles in correct specs. I am totally happy with them. !st I had 265/65/16 BFG A/T's now i'm I am running LTX M/S's 275/70/16's. Heres both pictures.

What is involved to change the settings on the Bilsteins ? How hard is it to do this ? Does truck have to re-aligned after the change ?

To change the settings you have to remove the coil strut assembly, compress the spring and remove it from the strut, move the clip up to the setting you want and then reassemble everything. Sounds like a lot of work but I've done it about 4 times now and can do it in 50 minutes. An alignment will be needed after the change.

After running the 5100s for a few months at .85" with the stock 3 leaf springs, this weekend I installed - rear Icon progressive 1.5" 3 leaf AAL and moved the front 5100s up the 2.5" setting. The AAL was supposed to be 1.5" but after I got it in I was sitting about 2 1/4" higher than stock. I decided to move the fronts to 1.75" for a slight rake. It was too much rake so then I moved the fronts up to 2.5". I have 1 1/4" of rake now. Measurements are 37" in the front, 38 1/4" in the rear with 265/65/17 Michelin LTX-AT2s. I love the look and the ride is nowhere near as firm as I was afraid it was going to be. Now I've got to get it aligned, hopefully tomorrow.

(in this picture it may look nose high but I think it's the angle of the picture)

This is what it looked like when I bought it.

When I get my arrival of packages from DSM and ToyTec, I am going with 1.75" setting and 1.5" AAL. Stock wheels and tires.

Have 5100's on the way, along with the Toytec/Eibach 1.6" coils and the .25" Taco lean spacer. Truck came with the TSB leaf pack so I'm hoping I get near level with the 5100's set to 0 and 1.6" lift up front. If I still have a tiny bit of rake that's ok, I don't want it going nose high once I load the bed or tow.

So my 265/75/16 Duratrac's haven't seemed to make my MPG worse. I've been wanting to go to 5100's set at 1.75", but with gas prices spiking I'm afraid the additional frontal area with the lift will hurt my MPG by 1-2. What's been everyone's experience with the 5100 lift? Will it hurt the MPG much?

I lifted first with stock size tires and didn't notice that much of a change in MPG at all. Then I put on the 285/65/18 Load range E tires and I've dropped about 1.5 MPG.

Mine had a 2" leveling kit when I got it.
Did an AAL and added 32.5 Nitto Muds.
Sits slightly higher in the rear but leaf pack should settle some over summer as I haul dirt bike or quad or w.h.y.

Had 4 wheel alignment done and was no issues.
Tracks straight and drives like a truck should.

Guess I will replace fronts with coilovers at some point.

First pic was the day I got it.
Second two with the new boots.
As seen it was squatting in the rear until after the spring refresh.
