2024 OR on the standard Bilstein shocks.

When reconnecting the lower part of the shock to its attachment point on the lower control arm - if it's not perfectly lined up with the control arm attachment point, is it ok to rotate the lower section of the shock with a large screwdriver, or would doing so damage the shock? Or is it instead necessary to release the spring tension with a compression tool and line things up perfectly?

I'm replacing the springs and having a tough time getting the shock to line up exactly right with the lower control arm.

No issue at all to twist the bottom. Use a long screwdriver and move a small amount at a time.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
When you rotate it it's then lined up!

Just make sure to wait until under load to fasten down to spec!

Great tip, thanks for posting. Do you tighten all connections under load? (sway bar, cam bolts, shock bolt, and the two bolts on the bottom of the control arm into the hub?)
