Yeah, I understand all that. The air bags are pretty much supplemental and supportive at this point. I will eventually have a complete suspension kit installed which will include leaf springs, shocks and an upgraded UCA.

The camper will not be permanently mounted to truck, just when long distance/duration road tripping.

As others have mentioned - the OR shocks are substantially limited by their body size. They are quite soft in normal driving and overheat badly on washboards due to the limited volume.

I have had factory OR, 5100, and 6112/5160 on the truck. The 6112s are my recommendation for anyone, but at minimum I'd go 5100. IMO it's not worth the effort/cost to install the OEM OR shocks. There is a reason everyone here seems to upgrade shocks.

    Sliders, 6112's, full skids.
That shock is beautiful, looking at upgrading to the 8100s after my 5160s crap out. I’ve heard the ride is unbelievable.

Within 20ft of first driving with the new suspension I was saying "Holy Sh*t" I honestly did not expect THAT MUCH of an overall improvement. It was a whole new truck.

I drive a RAM1500 sometimes for work, I went over multi railroad tracks the day before in my Tacoma that I didn't even notice.
I went over the tracks at the same speed in the Ram and not only did it hard bottom out, turn the truck into a bucking bronco and make my spine feel like it wrapped around my neck.
My apprentice in the seat beside me actually let go of his phone as he was floating out of his seat with this WTF did we get hit by the train look on his face.
First time I ever apologized to a work truck before. Even stopped to check to make sure I hadn't broke something.

Or when your passenger says out of the blue "You know, I wouldn't know how bad this road was if I wasn't drinking coffee like I'm on a highway cruise but I'm watching the truck ahead of us bouncing around like a Mexican jumping bean barely able to stay on the trail"

Getting a wheel specific tune with perfectly matched integrated hydraulic bump stops and limit control really sets these apart.

Drives like a $100K truck now, but just can't accelerate like one.
