I need front shocks on my 2002 Tacoma basic 2wd. I mostly do not carry heavy loads but do drive dirt roads and live where there are a lot of potholes and uneven pavement. I have been given a quote for Bilstein shocks installed, and a quote for KYB shocks installed that is almost half the price of the Bilsteins. Are the KYB's just as good for my needs?

What kind of Bilsteins? 4600s? 5100s?

if you plan to keep the truck long term I would get the BILSTEINS they will go way over 100k miles in the 4600 series

Bilsteins for the win, kyb is just a basic entry level shock an will perform as such.

You get what you pay for. If you plan to keep the truck long term and can afford it I vote Bilstein

Bilstein, my 6112/5160 combo is sooo good. KYB is the same as Monroe to me, basically junk.
